It is an area where computer science and engineering emphasise on creation of intelligent systems that can work and react like humans. moreover, numbers of researches from various areas like philosophy, mathematics, economics, neuroscience, psychology, computer engineering, cognitive science, linguistics, operation research, control theory probability and logic etc.

In last decade artificial intelligence has advanced very rapidly due to greater use of science, engineering and mathematics in experimenting and comparting approaches. Artificial Intelligence research also overlaps with tasks such as robotics, control systems, scheduling, data mining, logistics, speech and facial recognition and many more.
what is Robots and Robotics?

The word 'robot' was coined by novelist and playwright Karel Capek in the year 1920. The term robot was first used to denote fictional characters in 1921 play ' Rossum's Universal Robots'. The word robot comes from the salvic word robota,means forced labour. The term robotics was first used in print by Issac Asimov, in his science fiction short story 'liar' published in may 1941.
A robot is machine that can execute programmed instructions and that reduces labour or manpower requirement. They are made up pf a vast variety of electronic components, sensors, servo motors, flexibleasix devices, chips and microprocessors. But they have an edge over other machines as they can be programmed to have a certain degree of autonomy. The branch of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science that deals with design,construction, operation and application of robots, as well as computer systems for their control, sensory feedback and information processing is called Robotics.
Uses of Robotics:- It is used in various sectors, but they can be broadly classified into two types Industrial robots and Service robots. Industrial robots are used for manufacturing industries and they are programmed using computers. Service robots are used for domestic purpose for instance cleaning of floor or cutting of grass in garden. They are autonomous robots and controlled by electronic circuits.
