What is affiliate marketing? Introduction:

Affiliate marketing is getting commission for promoting products and services offered by other companies. It is a very popular way for marketers to make money online, as it promotes traffic of other businesses. In addition to this, affiliate networks such as Amazon Associates, CJ Affiliate Network allow users to earn earnings by partnering with one another. Therefore, the task of an affiliate marketer becomes much easier, since there are thousands of advertising partners to choose from (Tutor u). The main aim of most people in modern world is to get more benefit from every activity they do online. As we have already learned that many types of sales can be found on web pages, it is no longer strange if anyone wants to promote something. Thus, affiliate marketing has become a profitable business for millions, who want to share all the profit in their earnings.

Main body

To begin with, it should be stated that without any doubt, internet is a place where everything in terms of information is available for free, and one can find almost anything he/she desires at his/her fingertips. However, while searching different websites, one can often discover advertisements. These advertisements are usually displayed when surfing through some articles or news on various topics. Usually, the advertisement is placed before or after a new article, so the user is shown something at once. To take advantage of this opportunity, one needs to pay attention to those ads and create a good impression of him/herself among readers, so that readers will be prompted to click on them and make one's website more attractive. Then the advertiser gets some money for promoting the company's product among viewers. There are many ways of making money online, but one can hardly miss out on an opportunity to earn money by buying products on certain platforms for sale or purchase, so this opportunity is quite valuable indeed. For example, I am a freelancer, and I know about numerous methods through which bloggers can sell their content with the help of affiliate programs. Now let us look at some examples of bloggers who got lots of followers thanks to the opportunities presented by affiliate programs. One of the most influential figures behind the success of the Internet blogosphere was Steve Job, co-founder of Apple Computer, Inc., but also author of several best-selling books. He managed to promote his own products under multiple brand names including iPhone, iPad, iPod, etc. Moreover, he started blogging only later, which helped him to gain enough popularity (Erickson). One day, someone asked him for his opinion on Facebook. Job replied that this type of conversation is really important (Erickson). At this moment, he realized that his fans would like to discuss personal issues through social media. That day, the situation developed faster, and Steve Jobs posted three consecutive blogs on the topic of global warming. Within a few months, the posts reached tens of million audiences, and Steve Jobs became a celebrity to millions of customers worldwide. People started looking for innovative solutions, and Jobs managed to create a positive image using simple words: I like what you're doing, I am interested in your ideas. This was just the beginning of collaboration between Steve Job and advertisers. Today the number of visitors to Steve Job's profile is even bigger, each visit brings him financial interest. So, if you like his style of writing, reading his blogs will probably bring you closer to Jobs, his creative ideas, or his attitude towards life. Another famous figure who became extremely popular due to the promotion of affiliate products on blogs was Kevin Hart. When he was still a child, his parents wanted to purchase the computer he had been dreaming about, so they offered not to touch it until he got older. They offered for him to give away 2% of the price, which was $2,500 in total. After, Kevin started working hard to earn this money through affiliate programs such as ClickBank. His first blog post sold 500 copies quickly and earned him money. Being satisfied with his result, he published new blogs using similar approaches to attract the reader: If you go outside, there is probably a plant out there. If you take care of yourself, you don't have to worry (Vogel). Eventually, his book was successfully recognized by the major retailers and publishers. Hart became a millionaire overnight in 2006, although he soon realized that he needed to spend less time on creating a lot of blog posts and investing into his self-development project. There are no doubts about the fact that the opportunities provided by affiliates promote the development of many businesses online. Just think about it, as most of today's small businesses use e-commerce channels, and with the spread of Internet technologies, we can expect to see new platforms appearing on a regular basis. Thanks to affiliate marketing, a person can get a chance to promote their favorite products, regardless of niche. Such possibilities open up a wide range of possible ways of earning income, especially given the variety of things that can be sold on the web. One of the benefits of choosing affiliate marketing is cost-effectiveness. All you need to do is find relevant sites offering unique deals to promote the desired product or service and invite them to advertise it among their followers. Of course, in order to achieve better results, the affiliate marketer has to have some knowledge of affiliate programs. Some of them, however, offer training and education as well thus, you don't need to worry about having only a few tools and resources at hand. And even paying for the program will make you earn rather an average sum. Nevertheless, to succeed in affiliate marketing, one needs to be persistent and stay focused on target audience.

Conclusion

Thus, these examples show that affiliate marketing is an effective strategy, which helps people to earn money online. Many successful businessmen and entrepreneurs use their skills and expertise to promote goods, create great value for existing brands, and promote particular trends in society. A great deal depends on whether a blogger intends to sell or promote products through affiliate networks, as the opportunities seem to present itself constantly. Therefore, whenever one hears that somebody needs to promote something, he/she should definitely try to do it because otherwise people's interest and spending power will fall drastically.
