Have you ever had a cut that healed into a scar? Sometimes, similar scar tissue can form inside your body after surgery or an infection. This internal scar tissue is called an adhesion. It can stick your organs together, which might cause pain or make it hard to have a baby. The surgery to fix this problem is called Adhesiolysis. At Devaki IVF Centre, our expert surgeon, Dr. Haresh Zinzala, specializes in Adhesiolysis Surgery. He uses gentle, modern techniques to reduce your pain and improve fertility. This gives you the best chance to feel better and start a family.
What Are Abdominal Adhesions?
Inside your belly, you can get sticky bands of scar tissue called adhesions. They are like internal scars that form after something like surgery. These bands can glue your organs together. Usually, they don’t cause trouble. But if they pull or twist your intestines, it can be painful. Sometimes, they can cause a blockage, which is serious and means you need to see a doctor.
Types of Adhesiolysis Surgery
Adhesiolysis is surgery to remove scar tissue inside your body. There are two main ways doctors do this surgery:
1. Laparoscopic Adhesiolysis (Keyhole Surgery)
They put a tiny camera and special thin tools through the cuts. The camera shows them where the scar tissue is on a screen, and they use the tools to remove it.
Why it’s good:
- Less pain after surgery
- Smaller scars
- You get better faster
- You can go home from the hospital sooner
2. Open Adhesiolysis
Sometimes, the scar tissue is too big or complicated for the keyhole method. In those cases, doctors need to do open surgery.
When it’s used:
- A longer scar
- A longer recovery time
- You need to stay in the hospital for more days
