What is a Wisdom Tooth Pain

Wisdom teeth may appear too late in some individuals. Wisdom teeth can lead to severe pain if they do not grow in the right direction. Wisdom teeth tear gums as they grow. Its development can cause infections, severe pain, and inflammation. Often, the food we eat accumulates in the teeth, and bacteria can grow in the wisdom teeth if they are not brushed properly. The result is an increased risk of tooth decay, gum infection, and tooth decay in the sinus tissue. In such cases, consult a dentist for proper treatment.

Some people's wisdom teeth grow in the right position, so there is no problem. In some severe cases, however, wisdom teeth may need to be surgically removed. Depending on the symptoms, doctors may prescribe treatment. We will learn about the causes of wisdom teeth problems, their symptoms, treatment, and preventative measures.

What causes wisdom tooth pain?

  1.  If the wisdom tooth grows crooked, it causes pain in the gums. And thus, if there is an infection, it affects other teeth as well.
  2.  There may be a sudden increase in pain in the wisdom tooth.
  3.  People between the ages of 17 and 27 develop a wisdom tooth that tears the gums and puts pressure on other teeth.
  4.  Gum disease can develop.
  5.  Decay in the wisdom tooth.
  6.  Weak wisdom teeth can cause damage to other teeth.

The wisdom tooth can cause a kind of membrane growth inside the tooth jaw bone. Like this membrane, fluid sacs form a cyst that affects the bones and nerves around the teeth. In addition, infections can be caused by the accumulation of food particles in the teeth.

What are the Symptoms?

The wisdom tooth does not cause any pain or symptoms, but it causes pain and damages other teeth when the wisdom tooth becomes infected. In such a situation, the following are some of the symptoms:

The wisdom tooth grows behind the teeth used to chew food. Thus, pain can be felt in the back of the jaw.

Swelling and redness may occur around the wisdom tooth. This leads to discomfort when chewing food. Sometimes you can feel the pain even when you open your mouth.

Swelling of the jaw tips may occur. Also, it affects the teeth and gums. It causes swelling in the mouth, face, and jaw.

Due to the location of the wisdom tooth, it isn't easy to brush. Thus causing bacteria to grow and cause other problems.

How to diagnose wisdom tooth pain?

If severe toothache occurs, the dentist will do several tests. If the wisdom tooth is bent, an X-ray is performed to determine the correct position of the tooth. After that, treatment is given. In some severe cases, treatment may be needed to relieve the pain. In case of severe pain and discomfort, surgeons remove the wisdom tooth. Its recovery is faster in young people and slower in older people.

What are the Treatments?

If there is pain in the wisdom tooth, it must be treated. If just any common symptoms appear, dentists may prescribe medication. And in some severe cases, this method may be recommended to avoid complications. A wisdom tooth may or may not cause toothache. In such a situation, it becomes difficult for the dentist to solve the pain-related problems later. To avoid such complications, regular dental examinations are necessary.

If there is severe pain in the wisdom tooth, dentists perform surgery to remove the wisdom tooth. This way only takes a few hours, and the patient does not have to stay in the dental clinic for long.

It is obligatory to remove the wisdom tooth in case of lump, gum disease, infection, or damage to another tooth near the wisdom tooth.

The following measures can help prevent toothache:

  1. Some common dental examinations should be performed to diagnose any complications that may develop later.
  2. Symptoms should be diagnosed fast and immediately. This can be detected by performing some common dental tests.
