If you are a serious astronomical fanatic like many of us, you might be able to remember that one event in childhood that started you along with this exciting hobby. Maybe you first look through the telescope. But for many of us, we first saw the rain of fire from the sky, which we finally knew as a meteoroid shower.
By the time you see the first, it's easy to remember the film "World War" or other fantastic alien images that entered our atmosphere in urban areas to take over the planet. But with some guidelines and explanations about what was happening, we finally learned that this bathroom had no threatening or all kinds of invasion. The bath is not dangerous for most meteoroids, part of nature, and is enjoyable to watch.
So what are the strange lights in the sky? Do they attack the aliens from Mars? Do comets come to start the next ice age? Or maybe the asteroid caught fire when it entered the Earth's atmosphere. The question above is not for the first and "yes and no" to the other two.
A meteoroid is a small piece of debris, usually dust or small stone, that comes from comets or broken asteroids in space and eventually falls to earth. We say "towards earth" because the lights you see are the atmospheric friction burning the small space and creating spectacular shows for all of us. An exciting moment to witness is when a meteoroid breaks or explodes when entering. The exploding meteoroid is called Bacida.
There are some interesting details about the life of the meteoroid, which makes the star view fall more enjoyable. Seen, Meteoroids only need to weigh as little as a hundredth gram. But the thing that makes them so spectacular to see is the extraordinary speed they have achieved when they enter the atmosphere. Before burning, the meteoroid will reach between 11 and 74 kilometers per second which are 100 times faster than a speeding bullet.
We tend to think of seeing a falling star as a strange event, associating it with superstition (therefore, hoping for the star of luck). But there are actually thousands of them every year, so they really rarely see it. In fact, scientists told us that more than 200,000 tons of space entered the atmosphere every year and burned in the entry.
Comets are a great source of meteoroids because of their long tail nature. Many specks of dust, ice, and other space debris are stuck on the comet's tail while moving towards the sun. Then when the comet moves away from the sun in his orbit, many of these things are thrown into the room for dispersion. When the earth moves in the routine orbit around the Sun, often crosses the clouds of this disposed of material which is one of the "meteor shower" popular to see.
The fallen stars are quite easy for astronomers to predict, so you can enter the position to see the excitement at the right time of night and see the right area in the night sky. Usually, magazines or astronomical sites will give you time and general location to be ready to see when Meteoroids begin to fall.
Now, remember, this is a natural phenomenon, so it might not observe the timetable properly. Also, note that a notation system for the meteoroid bathing place will occur based on the constellation of what the background is. The sky to focus on the show is called "radiation" because that's where the meteoroid enters starts to shine or radiate. Radiant named for the constellation is also the closest. So, if the meteor shower will occur in the Leo constellation, the radiation will be called Leonid. This will help you describe the asteroid bath list in publications.
