The dream:
According to science, dreams begin to occur one and a half hours after falling asleep, when a person is sleeping, the part of the brain that is connected to the spinal cord produces electrical waves, as a result of these waves, chemical substances are produced. A flood of images accumulates in the front part of the brain, this part of the brain finds the order in which events begin to appear, the person sees these events, this process is called a dream. . From sleeping at night to waking up in the morning, this process happens three to four times. When a person wakes up, his conscious memory has forgotten the details of these events, but those events go into the collective unconscious.
In 1953, for the first time, science discovered the state of the mind in which dreams occur. During the process of dreaming, the pupil of the eye moves rapidly, breathing and heartbeat become irregular and the whole body becomes relaxed. The part of the human brain where dreams are formed is called the brainstem, which controls heart rate, bowel movement, and urination.
The nature of the dream depends on the dreamer's fear, desire, curiosity and state of mind. A person who is afraid of something often dreams about the future, a person who is worried about the future sees some past and some present in the form of dreams. A dream refers to a sign, image and message. These cues, images, and messages are very clear because the brain works with continuity, and the higher order continuity is non-verbal and symbolic, which gives a short visual form to a lot of content. In a dream, the senses of hearing, sight and speech are functioning, but the sense of taste and smell is non-existent. Dreams are strange because the electrical waves coming from the brainstem are so variable that different types of signals, images appear at the same time.
Some students were placed in a soundproof room and their electrical brain waves were checked, which revealed that four types of waves, delta, theta, alpha, and beta, were produced, each with a vibration and electrical impulse. Strength varies. Dreams also predict the condition of people suffering from diseases. Heart patients who see death, graveyards and such scenes in their dreams, the intensity of heart attack is much higher than other patients. Paralytics often have dreams of violence and beatings.
The dream is also mentioned in the Holy Quran such as the dream of Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and the dream of Hazrat Yusuf (peace be upon him). A good dream has also been called the forty-sixth part of prophethood (Sahih Bukhari: 6979). In the light of Hadith Sharif, there are three types of dreams:
1. true dreams
Such dreams come to the Prophets (peace be upon them) which are true and based on reality, and whoever sees the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) in a dream is also a true dream. Such dreams also come to virtuous people, the aspect of truth and reality prevails in their dreams. Those who have good dreams should praise Allah, recite the righteous people and express happiness.
2. Psychological thoughts
These dreams come as a result of disordered thoughts. Such dreams occur to common people, these dreams are both true and false. People who arrange good things in their lives but also commit mistakes, such people often have unclear dreams. Those who fearlessly commit sin have disturbing and strange dreams. There is a command about these dreams that they should not be described.
3. Evil whispers
Satan uses tricks to confuse and upset people. People who have such dreams should spit three times to the left, seek refuge in Allah from the evil of Satan, change their side and do not mention it to anyone.
Dreams and interpretations
Dream and interpretation are closely related. In the Ummah of Islam, there have been millions of scholars who were experts in the art of interpretation. Among them, Hazrat Imam Muhammad bin Sirin is such a person who had this wealth of knowledge. He was a freed slave and a disciple of Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him). It was known to him that once Zubaydah, the wife of Caliph Haroon al-Rashid, dreamed that pilgrims, all people, animals, birds and insects were doing evil to her. Zebeda was very worried after seeing this dream, she sent her maid to ask him for the interpretation of the dream and told her not to tell him that this dream was seen by the queen. The maid did the same. He looked at the maid from head to toe and said that if you are a maid then you have not seen this dream and if you have seen a dream then you cannot be a maid. The maid told the whole situation to the queen, the queen again sent the maid to tell Ibn Asirin that the queen had seen this dream. Ibn Sirin, explaining the interpretation of the dream, said that Queen Zubaydah will do something that will benefit pilgrims, common people, birds of prey etc. This dream was interpreted in such a way that Queen Zubaydah saw that drinking water was not available for the pilgrims in Arafat plain, while it was not possible to bear it in the extreme heat. came and ended, from which people and animals drank water.
There are different ideas about dreams in the world, one group denies the reality of dreams, they say that dreams are just illusions, mental confusion and unconscious feelings. Another group is of the opinion that dreams are other Shariah proofs
