Little Runmo - The Game is a 2D platformer game that originated from an animated Youtube film called "Little Runmo," created by the talented Gooseworx. The narrative centers around a fictional video game character who must navigate the challenges of preserving their final life.
The gameplay of Little Runmo - The Game draws from the video it is based on, as well as taking inspiration from the Super Mario games. For fans who are familiar with the animation, the game does not perfectly mirror the animated film. I aim to create a game that is not overly intense like Meatboy, but still offers moments of challenge. My goal is to ensure that the difficulty progression is as seamless as can be.
The early game has a relaxed atmosphere, reminiscent of the design of classic Mario games. As you progress, more challenging mechanics are gradually introduced. Some major influences came from Mario World, Super Mario Bros Wii, and a fan-game called Mario 63.
Upon entering the game, Runmo immediately attempts to advance. The arrow keys or WASD keys allow players to control him. You can jump by using the X key, and then you can leap ahead by pressing the C key. It will appear as though he will soon face an insurmountable barrier. Runmo can interact with the neighboring wooden board, Pikit, by using the up arrow key or the W key. In addition to saving your work, Pikit can also act as a guide at times. At this point, the game's real adventure begins—either players must find a way to reach the platform on the other side or they must carefully descend the hole. When the game first starts, Runmo shows up and tries to move forward. To make him jump, press the X key. Are you ready to get started?
