What in Honda CB300R BS6

  The latest iteration of the Honda CB300R has been updated with a greener, BS6-compliant 286cc liquid-cooled single - cylinder motor. With the update, the bike now makes 31.1PS and 27.5Nm, while also benefiting from a slip - assist clutch. The motor continues to be housed in the same trellis  frame,   sprung on a 41 mm USD fork and a rear mono shock. The bike rolls on 17-inch alloys, clamped by single disc brakes front and rear.

 The overall Neo - retro design of the BS6 Honda CB300R has remained largely unchanged -- it flaunts a circular headlight and a sleek tail lamp. That said, subtle touches like the golden finish for the USD fork and stealthier - looking gray side panels make the package seem more premium.

 Feature-wise, the BS6 Honda CB300R gets a negative LCD instrument cluster (with a speedometer, odometer, fuel level readout, temperature and time), a USD fork, a slipper clutch, and dual-channel ABS. All these are retained from the outgoing model.

 The Honda CB300R locks horns with the KTM 390 Duke and BMW G 310 R. Another touring-friendly alternative would be the Bajaj  dominar-400.

 

 Honda CB300R is a street bike available at a starting  price of Rs. 2,77,291 in India. It is available in only 1 variant and 2 colors. The Honda CB300R is powered by 286cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 31.1 bhp and a torque of 27.5 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Honda CB300R comes up with anti-locking braking system. This CB300R bike weighs 146 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 9.7 liters.

 The Honda CB300R is based on the CBR300R. But the styling is based on the current CB1000R, which means a café-racer type look that is quite fetching. The BS4 286cc single cylinder liquid-cooled engine generated 30bhp and 27.5Nm of peak power. But expect the BS6 variant to churn out less power.

  All - LED lighting and CBS with ABS are some of the features that the CB300R has. The fuel tank holds 10 liters, and the weight is a low 143 kg. The brakes are a radially mounted 4-piston caliper in the front and a floating caliper at the back. Tyre sizes are familiar ones: a 110 mm wide front and 150 mm wide rear. The suspension is quite conventional with inverted forks in the front, and has only preload adjustment for the rear.

  The CB300R used to be available in either black or red. It competes with the likes of the KTM 390 Duke, BME G310R and further up the price ladder, the Kawasaki Z 250.
