In today's world, people search for comforts and ease in everything. And now it is possible since the invention of artificial intelligence or computer science as a source of information and communication. But let us first know what Artificial Intelligence is.
WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE? : Artificial Intelligence is a wide-ranging branch of computer science concerned with building smart machines capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence.
Artificial Intelligence has massive potential advantages. The key for humans will ensure the "Rise of Robots" doesn't get out of hand. Some people also say that AI can destroy human civilization if it falls into the wrong hands.
In our daily life, navigation apps, SIRI, ALEXA, Robo-advisors, etc., are examples of AI.
USES OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: There is no doubt that AI has fundamentally changed and enhanced our lives. Our cities are connected, our homes are smarter, and we do business is more efficient now.
Yet AI can only change the subset of our world that can be automated, which primarily includes jobs in more structured ways and predictable conditions like factories and warehouses. The machine can automate certain behaviors and tasks, but they don't have the cognitive skills and critical thinking ability needed to execute.
WHAT IF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TAKES OVER HUMANS? : AI is basically made for humans to ease in daily life. But if AI takes over Human Intelligence, it will be a huge threat to all human species. It will become the dominant form of Intelligence on Earth.
Humans tend to get addicted to the inventions made by AI, which can cause a problem for future generations. Also, a major unemployment problem can arise as AI is replacing the majority of the repetitive tasks and other works with robots, human interference is becoming less, which will cause a major problem in the employment standards.
We've been warned for years that AI is taking over the world. PWC predicts that by the mid-2030s, upto 30% of jobs could be automated. CBS News reports machine reports could replace 40% of the world's workers within 15 to 25 yrs.
In yet another warning against AI, Elon Musk said that AI would likely overtake humans in the next 5 yrs. He also added, "But that doesn't mean that everything goes to hell in five years." While that may sound like a statistic, don't worry, more jobs will be created by AI soon. According to a report from the World Economic Forum, 85 million jobs will be replaced by machines with AI by the year 2025.,
But despite all its possibilities, AI is still believed to be at its very first stage of development. All that we see today is just a precursor to a much smarter and intelligent version that is yet to come. But AI can not completely take over these tasks, not yet.
But AI lacks Box Thinking. They can only perform those tasks they are designed or programmed to do; anything out of that, they tend to crash or give irrelevant outputs, which could be a major backdrop.
Hence, AI has not yet taken control. But there is highly a chance of taking over if we rely on them way too much.
