What happened to the England team for the Indian Test match

For England's rescheduled final Test against India, which begins on Friday, James Anderson will replace Jamie Overton, according to Ben Stokes.

The England captain also said Ben Foakes is still out while he recovers from Covid, therefore Sam Billings of Kent holds his spot behind the stumps.

Sadly, Stokes stated, "Foakesy hasn't recovered as well as we'd have liked him to." Sam will therefore continue to play for the team.

"doesn't feel like he could present himself in the best possible light this week since he hasn't fully healed from last week," he said. We told him to "get yourself better" and seized control of the decision.
Overton's exclusion comes after a standout performance against New Zealand in which he scored 97 runs with the bat and formed a crucial partnership with Jonny Bairstow that helped England recover from a 55–6 deficit.

As England's record wicket-taker Anderson missed the final game due to injury, he had taken Anderson's place in the lineup.

That is sometimes how professional sport operates, according to Stokes. Although it may be quite discouraging for him, he can still leave knowing that he did everything he could.

In addition, Stokes gave Zak Crawley his support after the Kent player struggled against the bowling of New Zealand, managing just four single-digit scores between innings of 43 and 25.

The team was chosen, according to Stokes, "on the basis that every player in every position is the best player in England to carry us forward in the way we want to," before the team had even played a Test match.

"There will be plenty of time for this team and this squad to perform. Regardless of what happens (against India), Zak Crawley is still part of the future plans."

India are obviously a completely different opposition with a different dynamic of team, but we focus on ourselves and know what we do well. We just defeated the best team in the world 3-0.

We have also considered the opposition we are up against, but just because the adversary shifts doesn't mean our strategy will, either.

Bumrah leads India in place of Rohit and Covid.

Since Rohit Sharma, India's usual captain, would be absent due to the Covid-19, Jasprit Bumrah will lead the team.

On the day of the game, the tourists gave Sharma as much time as they could to return a negative test, but they declared soon before 2pm that fast bowler Bumrah would captain the team for the first time.

Rishabh Pant, wicketkeeper, has also been named vice-captain.

The series between the teams last year came to an abrupt end when India withdrew just a few hours before the scheduled start at Emirates Old Trafford due to concerns about the coronavirus. The game is the final contest of that series.
