What Happened in Budget 2022-2023

1. 5 River Link Project Report including Ganga-Godavari, Pennaru-Cauvery has been finalized. The river connection project will be implemented immediately after getting the approval of the concerned states. Thus the agricultural sector will prosper. Farmers will benefit.

2. The e-passport issuance scheme will be introduced in the current financial year. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that the e-passport scheme will be launched in the current financial year. The e-passport is also known as the biometric passport. It looks like an ATM card with a chip.

3.Waves will be auctioned off in the near future to provide 5G service. The Finance Minister has said that the auction for the 5G service will take place soon as it has already been announced that it will come this year.

4.30% tax on income from cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that profits should be taxed at 30 per cent when crypto is sold and its value rises.

5.Introduction of new digital currency by the Reserve Bank. Internet transactions will be promoted through digital currency. Digital currency will take the Indian economy to new heights. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that digital currency will be introduced in black chain technology.Digital currency based on blockchain technology will be issued by the Reserve Bank in the financial year 2022-23. Internet transactions will be encouraged through digital currency. This will give a huge boost to the economy. The stock market has risen in response to the announcement of the digital currency

6.Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said in a statement that the sale of LIC shares will begin soon as Air India has already been sold.

7.In the wake of the 5 state elections, the central government has announced a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 2.37 lakh crore for food procurement. It is expected to receive a warm welcome among the farmers.

8.The Finance Minister announced that the ECLGS Emergency Financial Assistance Scheme for Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises will be extended to March 2023, which will greatly help companies facing trade vulnerability due to the Corona, Omigron Infection.Small entrepreneurs can borrow up to 20 per cent of the maximum outstanding loan amount or up to Rs 25 crore. A total of Rs 3 lakh crore has been targeted to be lent under the scheme. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced in the Union Budget that the deadline for the project will be extended to March 2023.

9.Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today said that the central government's capital expenditure has increased by 34 per cent to Rs 7.5 lakh crore due to over-allocation of funds for infrastructure projects in India.

10.The additional tax for large corporations has been reduced from 12% to 7%.
