Your life's machine, which makes the things you think about, is then driven by your emotions. If you think back to any time in your life when you gave long and careful thought to having or doing something, you can easily see that emotions must be a part of the equation. The expression "thoughts become things" is familiar to most people, and in a sense, it is true. However, stating that emotions emerge from thoughts is a more accurate way to convey that idea. Your life's machine, which makes the things you think about, is then driven by your emotions. If you think back to any time in your life when you thought long and hard about having or doing something, but those thoughts never turned into whatever it was that you were thinking about, you can easily see that emotions must be a part of the equation. For instance, the majority of people give a lot of thought to whether or not they will be able to afford certain material possessions or experiences. Almost all of them also give a lot of thought to losing weight, getting in shape, or improving their overall health. The majority of people also spend a lot of time contemplating whether or not their relationships with other people, whether romantic or social, will be satisfying. However, despite the enormous amount of thought that is given to any or all of those things, we frequently do not achieve the level of success that we would like. That's because we don't feel a strong enough emotional connection to the people and things we want in our lives. More is not always better when considering the things we want because, regardless of how many times we think them, emotionless thoughts have no real power. On the other hand, almost always, a regular thought about something that also makes you feel good serves to bring that thing into your life. Think back to any job interview, health improvement program, date, or other social event you were a part of where you felt very positive and confident to illustrate this idea. The majority, if not all, of those scenarios resulted in one of two outcomes: either you attained or enjoyed the experience of whatever it was that you felt positive about, or you realized after the fact that you didn't really want it. In contrast to how a lack of confidence will typically make you feel powerless to get what you want out of any given situation, you put yourself in charge of the outcome by feeling positive and confident about achieving something. However, when considering whether or not you truly feel optimistic and confident about achieving something, you need to be honest with yourself. Strong desire does not equate to optimism or confidence in acquiring something. Financial, health, or social success is something everyone wants, but actually believing we will achieve it is another matter. This distinction between giving something a lot of thought and giving it a high quality of thought is ultimately what determines whether or not we achieve it. Thoughts that consistently elicit a positive emotional response in relation to something are considered to be of high quality. You get the impression from these thoughts that you will eventually achieve whatever it is you are thinking about. Compare that to how the majority of people envision achieving their goals. You will notice that people frequently experience feelings of doubt, fear, uncertainty, concern, and lack of confidence when they think about their dreams. In history, very few notable accomplishments have been achieved by people who were worried about whether or not it would actually happen. Fear and other disempowering thoughts rarely lead to positive outcomes. This does not mean that feelings of fear or similar emotions are not a part of the process; in fact, they frequently are. However, they are only used as tools to boost the person's confidence and self-esteem because putting an end to feelings of powerlessness immediately makes us feel empowered! This is true if you've ever fought back against a fear. Making a conscious decision to acknowledge how you feel about a goal you have set for yourself is the most important step in harnessing the power of your emotions for self-improvement. You must accept the fact that you have mental roadblocks that need to be removed before you will achieve success in that area. If the thought of improving your finances, health, social life, or any other aspect of your life causes you to feel anything other than positive and confident, you must accept the fact that you have mental roadblocks. After that, you can get around those obstacles by participating in whatever activity will make you feel better. That might incorporate becoming instructed about what it will take to achieve your objective, it might mean rehearsing confirmations or perceptions, it could include doing investigate on the point, employing an expert to help you, or even something as straightforward as voicing the debilitating conviction to yourself. When the dark forces that lurk within our subconscious come to light, it is frequently discovered that they have very little, if any, actual control over us. By being completely sincere with yourself about how you feel about something you want to achieve, you can cast off your limiting, demotivating beliefs. You will be left with nothing but positive and self-assured feelings about your capacity for success once you have identified whatever it is that is causing your negative feelings, brought it into the open and eradicated it. That's exactly what you'll do then!
