The main cause of sunburns is due to ozone layer depletion. So, this article is all about sunburns, it's causes, symptoms and some treatments. So don't skip, read fully. Let's get into the topic.

What is sunburns? 

Skin inflammation caused due to overexposure to the harmful rays of the sun is known as sunburn.

UVA and UVB are the ultraviolet rays that cause maximum damage to your skin.

Over exposure to sun triggers the development of melanin on the upper layer of your skin or epidermis, resulting in the formation of a tanned skin.

Severe sunburn can damage your DNA also.

 Common Symptoms of Sunburn 

  1. Changes in skin color, your skin may appear reddish color
  2. Wrinkles can occur due to sunburn
  3. Feels hot, when you touch your skin
  4. Frequent itching sensation can occur
  5. Blisters may pop out due to overexposure to sun 
  6. Can suffer from High fever 
  7. Low blood pressure can occur
  8. Swelling of skin may occur due to inflammation caused by overexposure to sun.

 COMMON RISK FACTORS FOR SUNBURN

  1. Fair skinned people are more prone to sunburns because of decreased Melanin
  2. Working under Direct sun can cause sunburns
  3. Sunburn can lead to look aged person
  4. The blisters can result in infections
  5. SKIN lesions can OCCUR due to sunburns
  6. SOMETIMES, sunburns can lead to skin cancer.

 CHECK OUT SOME SUNBURN TREATMENT 

  1. Bathing in cold water can give you some pleasant relief
  2. By applying Aloe Vera to the affected area, can reduce redness 
  3. Sometime, overexposure to sun can cause dehydration. So the advice is to drink plenty of water. Have a water bottle when you're going out. This may help you from dehydration.
  4. Aspirin is the Anti-inflammatory medicine, used to treat inflammation.
  5. Home remedies like apply ice cubes over the affected area or apply orange peel in to the affected area, it can be used to reduce sunburns. 
  6. A sunburns will most often heal on its by two weeks 

While you're healing, 

  1. Stay out of sun, more sun exposure, will make your sunburns worse.
  2. Don't pop blisters. When you did it, it will lead to infection.
  3. Drink plenty of fluids to prevent from dehydration.
  1. Sun burns can be prevented by using sunscreen over the area which is going to expose to the sun.
  2. Use fully covered or protected cloth to avoid getting rid of sunburns.
  3. Stay out of sun from 10 am to 4 pm, it is pity challenge to do, but you have to do if you want to avoid sunburns.
  4. Wear a hat with the wide brim, 
  5. Wear clothing that prevents your skin from the sun.
  6. Don't wear too hard clothes during summer, it will cause you to feel irritable, skin cannot be able to breathe. This may cause you to face irritation. Due to irritation, sweat, your skin will feel itchy over the area. On that, it may lead to inflammation.
  7. Some clothing is rated with UV protection factors. You can use that, also, to protect your skin from the sun.
  8. Look for shade. Shaded area get less UV radiation.
  9. Use sunscreen even in shaded. UV rays are reflected off of other surface as sand, snow, cement and water.
