Popular singer Demi Lovato opens up about the fierce turning points of her life in her new documentary series Dancing With the Devil Lovato says she was raped as a teenager while working for a Disney channel in the late 2000s.
The culprit was not held accountable for his actions after Lovato told him what happened. The singer did not reveal the culprit in the documentary but says she had to confront him several times after the terrible act.
"We had something to say, "Let's not go any further than this." I was a virgin, and I didn't want to lose my virginity like this. It didn't matter. I blamed myself for going into the same room as him.
The situation was also particularly arduous because Lovato had to maintain a "clean image" because of Disney. She also had to wear a so-called "virgin ring." Eventually, she began to have eating disorders and suicidal thoughts. It was hard for her to accept that rape had taken place.
"My "Me too" story is me telling others that someone did this to me, and he never was held accountable for it.
Rape was a terrible part.
Lovato got rushed to the hospital on April 24. In 2018, she was found unconscious at her home in Los Angeles. She had overdosed on narcotics. After two weeks in hospital, Lovato went to rehab.
Lovato says in her documentary that she was left to die after being raped by a drug dealer.

The situation was reminiscent of her previous experience as a teenager.
"I lost my virginity in rape. I called that person back a month later and tried to do the right thing by taking control of the situation. With that, I only started to feel even worse," Lovato
