What dark phase in her life did Kate Winslet talk about, Kate Winslet's Darkest Secret

One of the most honored actresses in the world is Hollywood star Kate Winslet. The 47-year-old actress has established a reputation for portraying strong, complex female roles.

Heavenly Creatures, which came out in 1994, featured Kate Winslet's breakthrough performance. With "Titanic," her fame soared to new heights three years later.

Her best performance was in "The Reader," for which she received the 2009 Academy Award for Best Actress. She received praise for her work in the movies "Finding Neverland," "Divergent," and "Avatar: The Way of Water."

Additionally, she has contributed to movies and web series. Her portrayal of Marianne "Mare" Sheehan in the short-lived crime drama series "Mare of East town" earned her the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie Award.

Kate Winslet struggled to achieve the level of fame she now enjoys. When she first began her career, the actress, like many others, was made fun of for being overweight.

"I know better than to waste precious energy on criticizing my physical self," she said later in the interview. "I think any woman is better off just saying: I believe in myself. It doesn’t matter what other people think; this is who I am—let’s get on with it."

She acknowledged that she had to be "really f--- brave" to allow her body to be its most vulnerable self and not run from it. And trust me, our own team members would advise us to "sit up a little bit." I'd then ask, "Why?" Because of the flesh you can see, perhaps? No, that's how things will turn out.

Winslet said,

"I think it probably stems from having been subjected to the most awful scrutiny and judgment, and, actually, I would go so far as to say bullying, from mainstream media when I was in my 20s," probably alluding to remarks made regarding the memorable portrait scene she shared with Leonardo DiCaprio in "Titanic."

In a recent interview, Kate Winslet discussed her challenging experience in the entertainment industry. The actress admitted that she received insults for having "the wrong shape" and was forced to accept less.

Young actresses today are fearless, f--- me. I'm so proud of it. And I acknowledge that I don't give an s--- about the s--- being thrown, the struggle, the years of using my voice, or the frequent ridicule and finger-pointing that comes with it. It was all incredibly worthwhile. Because, when I was in my 20s, I could never have imagined how much the culture would change.

The 'Titanic' actress, like the brash characters she portrays, did not let the doubters and haters win because she did not give a damn what they had to say.

With her three children, daughter Mia (age 22), sons Joe (age 19), and Bear (age 9), Kate Winslet is now contently settled. She acknowledged that she enjoys the simple things in life, like taking her kids to and from school, cleaning the house, cooking, and snacking on chips while watching television.

The actress admitted that she opposes social media and prevents her kids from using it. Bear is not permitted to use a phone.
