China has been consistently describing them as separatists and a threat to Tibet. However, the Dalai Lama has received support from world leaders on different occasions.
In 2010, US President Barack Obama met the Dalai Lama despite China's opposition. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989. According to The Guardian, the current Dalai Lama indicated a few years ago that he would no longer be reincarnated. He also said that he was reborn, it would be outside China and Tibet so that China could not interfere in it.
In fact, in the midst of the ongoing dispute with the Dalai Lama, in 2011, China's Foreign Ministry had announced that it would recognize only that Dalai Lama which the Chinese government would approve. China wants to appoint its people in the tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, so that there is no possibility of any rebellion in Tibet.

Lhamo Thondup became the 14th Dalai Lama in 1940.
Dalai Lama is a Mongolian title, which means Ocean of Knowledge. So far, 14 Dalai Lamas have lived in Tibet. Lhamo Chondup was proclaimed the 14th Dalai Lama on 22 February 1940. Then his age was only 5 years. He is also known as Tenzin Gyatso. In 1937, when the religious leaders of Tibet saw the Dalai Lama, they found that he was the reincarnation of Thubten Gyatso, the 13th Dalai Lama. After passing all the tests, the religious leaders
Gave religious education to the Dalai Lama.
How the process of choosing the Dalai Lama began From 1357 to 1419, there was a religious leader in Tibet, whose name was Je Sikhya. He started a school in Tibet in 1409. Named Gelug School, Gendun Drup was a promising student in this school, who later became the first Dalai Lama. Between Buddhists and Tibetans in the 1630s

Battles had started for the leadership. Eventually, the 5th Dalai Lama succeeded in uniting Tibet.
The 13th Dalai Lama declared Tibet independent in 1912. At that time, China did not raise any objection. But after about 40 years, when the communist government was formed in China, then the people of China attacked Tibet. The Tibetans did not get any success in that attack.
How to meet the next Dalai Lama
According to The Guardian report, the Dalai Lama is not chosen but found. In fact, Tibetans believe that the Dalai Lama himself has the power to choose in which body he will be born. After the death of the Dalai Lama, the responsibility of finding the next leader rests with the second Lama and the Government of Tibet.
After the last rites of the Dalai Lama, the rest of the lamas see that in which direction Hua is moving and in the same direction the search for the next Dalai Lama is started. Sometimes lamas also have dreams related to this. All lamas also meditate near Lhamo La Tso, a sacred lake in Tibet, that they can receive signs related to the next Dalai Lama.

In fact, there is a belief among Tibetans that the goddess of this lake had earlier promised the Dalai Lama that she would protect the descendants of the Dalai Lama going forward through the reincarnation line.
Apart from this, it is also seen that which children were born in the Buddhist community at the time of the death of the Dalai Lama. Once the child is selected, a number of tests are taken. The most important of these tests is the connection with the previous Dalai Lama.
Some belongings of the previous Dalai Lama, such as a stick, ghati, rosary and drum, are placed in front of the chosen child, followed by other similar items. The child has to identify the belongings of the Dalai Lama among them.
If the Lamas have selected only one child, the Dalai Lama is announced after discussion with other senior spiritual leaders. If the lamas see a glimpse of the Dalai Lama in more than one child, then the public is asked to choose by placing a slip of name in a golden urn.

After the announcement of the Dalai Lama, the chosen child is taken to Lhasa, where he is taught Buddhism as well as many other subjects to make him a spiritual master. It took 4 years to meet Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama.
China attacked Tibet in 1949
In 1949 the Chinese invaded Tibet. This invasion of China happened when the process of electing the 14th Dalai Lama was going on there. Tibet had to face defeat in this battle. When Tibet was attacked, there was a communist government in China led by Mao TSE Tung. It was Mao TSE Tung, after whose coming to power, China embarked on expansionism.
How the Dalai Lama became a reason for the war in 1962
When there was a war between India and China in 1962, many reasons for it also came to the fore. One reason was also that Chinese soldiers had entered Indian territories and to return these soldiers, China put a condition, this condition was a new trade agreement. India refused to sign this trade agreement and said that there will be no agreement until China comes to the position of 1954.
After that, on 13 September 1962, China again proposed that if India was ready to sign, then its army was ready to go back 20 km. India agreed to this as well, but China attacked.
After the 1962 war, a book by Bertil Linter, a Swedish journalist, came out. The name of this book was "Chinese War with India". In this book, Linter told that the condition of China just before the world had become very bad. There was a famine. 3-4 crore people were killed in it. To distract from all this, Mao Tse Tung needed an external enemy. In such a situation, his eyes first fell on the Dalai Lama. He was living in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. There was resentment in China due to the Dalai Lama being given asylum. And the government of China was already upset by this.China wanted to teach a lesson to India and therefore, despite all the peace efforts, China had attacked India.
