Everyone wishes to have long, beautiful and healthy hair because hair plays an important role in enhancing our beauty and personality. But today, millions of people around the world are facing the problem of hair loss, damaged hair and one of the most common problem "white hair". This issue is observed in all age groups, but especially in young boys and girls. The issue of hair loss and white hair has several causes in common, but here we will try to understand the causes of white hair.
What makes hair black?
Basically, our hair is made up of a colorless protein called keratin. This means that our hair turns white before it leaves the hair follicle, a pigment called "melanin" is present in our hair follicles, which is responsible for hair color. There are two types of melanin, one in our skin and one in our hair follicles. The skin and hair follicles have cells called melanocytes that produce the pigment melanin, which is responsible for the color of our skin and hair. So when the amount of the melanin pigment is high; our skin and hair becomes darker. When the production of melanin is low, our hair and skin turn gray or white. The production of melanin is triggered by various sources such as sunlight, hormones, etc., but the main stimulus is sunlight.
Causes of White Hair

For some time, the melanocyte cells present in the hair follicles do not produce sufficient amounts of melanin. This could be due to a number of reasons, such as: taking a hot shower, chemicals in shampoo, hair dryer, bleaching hair, hormonal imbalance, unhealthy diet, or some other problem in your body. This product can attack the cell layer of melanocytes and inhibit the production of melanin. However, one of the main causes of white hair is hair color. One of the main reasons for white hair is color, which is mainly used for fashion by both boys and girls. Most people have noticed that after dyeing their hair white, all the hair then turns white. This is because of the ammonia content in hair dye. Ammonia has an irritating effect, gets stuck in the hair follicles and becomes hard. Ammonia interferes with the activity of melanocyte cells and inhibits the production of melanin.
Prevention
1. Choose products wisely
You can save your hair from bleaching if you choose products wisely. Avoid products that contain ammonia or similar chemicals, as these are the main cause of thinning of the melanocyte layer. This is the enemy of hair.
2. Oiling
Oil is a staple for healthy hair. Not only good for hair growth. But it also keeps the melanocyte layer healthy, makes hair shiny, and protects it from damage. It also controls lightening and split ends.
3. Eat healthy
Diet is the most important part of healthy hair. Foods high in protein such as fish, meat, etc. are good for hair growth. Green vegetables and fruits are also essential because they contain essential vitamins and minerals that are essential for good keratin protein and complement the needs of hair growth.
