I think it is a fabulous moment because India first one day international was in 1974 against England. Now on Sunday, we will be playing our 1000th One-day international, the first team to do so. That would have not been possible without the past and present players, the past and the present officials of the board of council for cricket in India and all the people who support Indian cricket wholeheartedly.
One-day international changed due to the advent of T20's:
The biggest transformation has been 2008 onwards when the Indian Premier League started. In 2012-2013, the rule was changed where two new balls were introduced with one additional fielder in the ring. If you see, the average scores started going up because there is one extra fielder in the ring and two new balls. The bowlers' economy rate shave also gone up. The batters are playing more and more new shots and willing to take more chances.
India One-day international career reached peak in 2011:
Nothing beats the world cup final in 2011. That was the best cricketing day of my life. 6 runs needed of 11 balls, the Indian captain took up with a helicopter shot to take over the world cup. That moment will be the memorable incident in an Indian one-day international cricket history. In that World Cup series, God of Cricket Tendulkar lifted the world cup under the captaincy of Captain Cool. All over India, the people celebrate this moment as festival. The Indian dressing rooms were filled with joy and happiness.
Memorable One-day International victory for India ahead 1000th ODI:
- In the year of 2017 against England, the England set a target around 325 to India. In that match, the Indian opening batsman lost their wickets in the power play after the 25th over, India scored 64/3. In that time, Indian skipper and Kedhar Jadhav make a 200 runs partnership between them. In that match, Indian skipper scored 122 and Jadhav scored 120. At the end, Indian all-rounder quick knock 40 runs to help India to chase the target of 325. At last, they win the match with three wickets.
- In the year of 2017 after winning the first match, In second match India won the toss and choose to bat, in that match also openers failed to make a partnership India lost three wickets in the power play. At the end of power play India scored 25/3, the Indian fans are upset. During that time, Indian all-rounder and Wicket Keeper built a partnership around 280 runs, that will be a historic partnership in Indian One-day international history. In that match, Indian all-rounder scored 150 maiden half centuries and Mahendra Singh scored centuries. At the end, England unable to reach the finishing line. Finally, India won by 15 runs.
- In the year of 2017, n ICC event, the match between India and Pakistan. In that match, the Indian openers played well. Rohit Sharma scored 120 runs and Indian Batsman scored 77 runs. In between, the rain affect the match. So, the target was reduced to 240 according to DLS method. The High performance of Indian bowlers close the gateway of Pakistan victory. At the 40th over, they are able to chase 212 runs with 8 wickets lost. This placed a memorable event in Indian ODI history.
- In the year of 2018, against South Africa, they won the match by a high margin of 73 runs. In that match, Rohit Sharma scored 115 runs and Kuldeep took 4 wickets in that match, and they also won the ODI series in South African series
