A lot of people have made it about the upcoming new and anticipated movies, television shows, and all sorts of games, but I’m not here to talk about that! If you want some fun facts about these things, look at my article How To Be An Adult for a brief summary!
Now let me start off by saying this is not what I do…but rather it does pay homage to those who do know what I am doing! So the following are just a few things I have found myself interested in so far as entertainment related topics. All times are listed under the year they were released to give context. But please remember all times listed under “2019-2020” are from now on. Enjoy!
TV Shows & Dramas:
I would love some recommendations for TV Show or Drama options, preferably on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Hulu, Apple+, HBO+, Showtime+, Comedy Central, etc. I’m sure there are plenty of good ones out there for every type of show. There really isn’t much competition for any particular show; except maybe on certain types of shows where content might become scarce. The best TV Show I know is Unorthodox (my dad calls it “Unorthodox”) on CBS. It’s based on true events from that time period and has its own unique story line.
The latest one I am watching is Big Mouth on AMC. This is a great watch for people interested in how long ago it was created (some of us didn’t even realize it was written 20 years ago!). Also a nice watch for younger audiences with lots of room to grow from here on out. As said before, this really isn’t about entertainment. Instead, just a simple documentary focused on culture. Now, if you want to make money selling your stories, this is an option for you. Many famous TV shows like Gilmore Girls and Insecure have spawned spinoffs for free with no effort. You can also use social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, etc., to attract viewers and engage them. This is especially helpful when you have done well with a certain subject over years and you would like to bring something different to your audience!
Movies:
A lot of people have complained about their current movie viewing habits, specifically streaming services. I think most fans want to stick with the classics or original movies with very little change at the box office. Well, I don’t feel this way. I have seen countless movies that change how we view them, depending on which one we watch. Here’s my list: A Quiet Place, Titanic, Call Me By Your Name, Finding Nemo, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Independence Day, Men In Black, Meet the Robinsons, No Time to Die, Shrek, The Office, many other gems. Most importantly, I would recommend a new release every month. They have everything I love in a film catalog and most importantly, they are cheap. If you want to save, they have monthly subscriptions. Also, they offer a membership for unlimited access (for up to 365 days) for $12.99 to $79.99 a month! This kind of value is hard to come by nowadays. So why should you bother? Now I will leave a couple reasons why I consider this a game changer for movies:
