 WHAT IS VEGETABLE?

         Part of a plant that can be consumed as food either by humans or animals is called a vegetable.

  • Types of Vegetable:

                               Types of vegetables include different varieties i.e. leafy green, cruciferous, marrow, root, edible plant stem, and allium.

  • Leafy Green Vegetable:

                              Green vegetables high in vitamins and fibers are known as leafy green vegetables, for example, spinach coriander, etc.

                                 They are rich in vitamins, especially A, K, E, and C. They reduce the risk of breast cancer, provide nutrients and potassium, and help protect your eye.

  • Cruciferous Vegetable:

It is a diverse group that means cross-bearing with different examples including broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage.

They are rich in vitamins and minerals that help in maintaining cholesterol and sugar levels.

  • Marrow Vegetable:

A vegetable that is close to cucurbit or a mature cucurbit fruit is known as a marrow vegetable and is from the same class as melon and watermelon are from.

They are rich in nutrients that help in improving vision and maintaining or losing weight etc.

  • Root Vegetable:

                         Root vegetables are vegetables that grow under the ground like carrots potatoes radishes onions etc.

As they are underground they are rich in water and nutrients and help maintain different parameters that include blood pressure, glucose level, and much more.

  • Edible Plant Stem Vegetable:

                      It means that the part of a plant which is either the stem leaves root or leaves of part can be eaten by humans and animals it includes sugar cane, celery, etc.

They have a variety of nutrients and vitamins which provide vitamins and potassium.

  • Allium Vegetable:

Allium is a genus that includes different species like onion garlic leek chives etc.

They help benefit in many ways because they contain dietary fiber.

  • Nightshade Vegetable:

                It is said that these vegetables prefer to grow at night in dark shades and are known as nightshade vegetables including tomatoes, pepper, and eggplant. Some say that tobacco is also a nightshade family. They have some amount of alkaloid.

It provides carotenoids, vitamin C, and anthocyanin in tomato peppers and eggplant respectively.

They contain vitamins, potassium, phosphorus magnesium which are very important for our life

  • Low-carb Vegetables:

Vegetables have different but limited amounts of carbohydrates which provide many nutrients that help in improving our health overall. It includes cauliflower, mushroom, broccoli, etc.

  • Roasted Vegetables:

Roasted vegetable means to roast the vegetable by cooking or heating as a dry heat in any source. It is a slow process to heat or cook the vegetable.it is quite healthy to roast vegetables instead of cooking them. The vegetables that can be roasted are root vegetables, cruciferous vegetables, and many others. Besides its other benefits, the one benefit is providing a great taste as it is roasted with species which give it an extra taste and special for a person like me who lives to eat different food with different tastes.

  • Which Vegetables are in Season?

Different vegetables are in different seasons which means that they are sown and grown in different seasons. Let's mention some names of vegetables with their season

Aubergine, Cucumber, Bottle Gourd, White Onions, Pumpkin, Spinach, Okra. Are good to grow in summer

Leeks, Mustard, Parsnips, Radishes, Rutabagas, Spinach. Are good to grow in winter

Conclusion:

Vegetables are healthy in every way they help to improve our health by providing nutrients vitamins, minerals, fibers, etc. They are classified based on food. They should be a part of our daily diet to improve our health by maintaining different parameters.
