LG V30
While the biggest brands of the smartphone market are gradually losing their respective markets, LG continues to continue its overwhelming growth with majorly contributing to the global smartphone market.
According to a survey conducted by a Mobile Radar group, LG is declared as the fourth top brand in the smartphone market. A total of 34,000 smartphone owners across six continents and 10 countries were surveyed for this survey, with LG only coming in fifth behind Samsung, Apple, Huawei, and Sony.
Looking at its global production figures, LG is one of the biggest manufacturers of smartphones and has produced smartphone models for as many as 50 different brands. And with the V30, it is taking on the crown of the premium flagship smartphone in its home market, Korea. The company has currently manufactured 12 million units of LG V30 as of August this year.
LG V30's successor is rumored to be the LG G7, which is expected to be announced in Q2, 2018. Alongside the successor, the company is expected to launch an upgraded V30+ in the market soon. The upgraded variant is expected to come with upgraded specifications with dual cameras and a 6.2-inch display.
While LG is focusing on smartphones, the company's home appliance division is also gearing up to expand its footprint in the global market. LG has recently launched its new smart refrigerator that supports Google Assistant. LG's new AI-enabled refrigerator is priced at Rs 43,990 and has been priced to compete against similar products from its domestic rival Samsung. The Smart Interview Door-in-Door refrigerator uses voice-control technologies and cloud-based memory storage to allow users to access information regarding the refrigerator's contents, even if they do not have a smartphone with them.
According to a recent report, LG is planning to expand its appliances portfolio and launch more than 40 products in 2018. The company is also rumored to showcase its new concept for the future of TVs at CES in January next year.
