What are the top 9 tips for dealing with public speaking questions?

The way you handle questions from the audience can often be a determining factor in the way your presentation is received. If you are planning a business, then it is very important that you handle the questions well.

1. Prepare questions - When writing your presentation, think about what you might be asked and what your answer will be. You probably would not want to answer that question right away, so think about what you would say to make the person ask.

2. Make it clear at the beginning - You may decide to answer the questions as you go along or at the end of your presentation. Whatever you decide, make it clear in the beginning and do not change your mind. I will raise questions at the end of a brief introduction; if you take questions as you go, then your time will be spent. And always remember, the audience will not forgive you for taking half an hour when you were scheduled to speak for only fifteen minutes.

3. Never finish with questions - It is best to ask questions five or ten minutes before the end, answer the questions and summarize to finish firmly. Too many presentations end questions and everything goes slow - especially if you don't get anything.

4. Listen - When you are asked a question, listen and look like you are listening. It may be something you have heard a million times before. Treat the interviewer with respect and do not take their point for granted.

5. Thank you for asking - It shows only respect, shows respect and gives you more time to think about your answer.

6. Repeat the content of the question - Some people may not have heard the question, so your answer may not make sense to them. It may also upset them not to hear the question. Also, it gives you more time to think about the answer and makes you look more intelligent and more in control.

7. Answer for everyone - Don't just fall into the trap of answering a question. If they happen to be close to the front, you can end up negotiating with them and getting everyone out.

8. Keep it simple - Most speakers, when it comes to questions, are comfortable and the fact that someone is interested enough to ask a question, leads them to continue with the answer - DON'T SAY.

9. Do not hide or obscure - If you do not know the answer to a question, say it and find it. Suggest to the inquirer that ‘you will call them ''or'' you will see a response. It can be a great way to connect with others after the launch.

As we all know, you are likely to be asked any questions and then be very quiet. People may be thinking about what you just said and may need more time to ask. They may also be shy and may take a few minutes to speak. Why not have your own prepared quiz and say something like this. “You may be wondering ? If you still do not find any questions, go directly to your summary and closing statement.
