What Are The Three Steps To Unleashing The Peace Within

We live in a hectic and uncertain world where violence and chaos surround us every minute of the day. We are busier and busier and bombarded with commercialism and advertising from all sides. Like many of us I was looking for a way to break through the constant information overload to help my mind relax and after many years of studying and trying the meditation arts of many great religions like Buddhism I have. found a simple six-step formula that helps me release the inner peace that really wants to come out.

Step 1 - Find a cool, quiet place

The first step to unlocking your inner peace is to find a place where you feel safe and undisturbed while meditating. Some of the places you might consider are sitting on the ground in a garden, near a river, or if you're like me and city bound, just sitting in your living room will do. However, there are a few key things you need to consider -

Traffic noise should be low

There is nothing worse than just starting to meditate and hearing the air brakes of a truck pulling out or an ambulance or police car passing by.

Be free of distractions

When you first start meditating, it might be hard to get started, but with a little practice, and that's the fun part, you'll find that you get better at it over time, but in the early stages, you'll be a little distracted from your kids. or it can make the noise very difficult.

You need to feel safe

With today's society being what it is, you need to feel comfortable before you start meditating. If you feel insecure, you will find it very difficult to release your anxieties and especially your thoughts.

Be cool

Most meditation sessions usually last around 20 minutes. When you first start, you may find that it takes a good 10 minutes to get to the point of relaxation, so make sure you are sitting on a comfortable surface before starting the meditation process. I'm a big fan of sitting on the floor, but if you find it difficult to sit upright for any length of time, simply sit against a wall. This can also help you feel safe. If sitting in a chair is more comfortable for you, try meditating this way. I don't recommend sitting on the couch simply because you run the risk of falling asleep, and while it's great before bed, it's not recommended as a result of the meditation process.

Step 2 – Use light incense

Depending on where you are, you may find that a light incense helps break down barriers when you first start meditating. If you're like me and you're always in a rush and stressed when you first stop, you might find it really hard to focus on meditation because of the buzz going through your blood, so using a light incense like lavender can certainly help.

You can buy incense sticks from many stores such as Chinese grocery stores, oriental food stores, or even some of the mystical stores, and there are certainly many places on the web where you can purchase light incense. However, keep in mind that in some countries it is illegal to buy incense via mail order and only buy from a reputable seller because you never know what you might be importing.

Step 3 - Play soft music

The saying, “Music calms the wild beast” is never truer than when you are trying to find your inner world of peace. Playing soft music will certainly help to soothe the buzz you have after a busy day, but be very careful about the type of music you choose. You need to choose music that slows you down rather than raises your heart rate.

Many meditation gurus will recommend music such as running water, a babbling brook or the sounds of nature, all of which will certainly be suitable for this process, but I find music from the Baroque period the most helpful.

Music from this period has special elements that make it suitable and more suitable to help you find inner peace. Baroque music is built on 60 beats per minute, which is strangely the same as our heart should beat. Some research has shown that listening to music that has 60 beats per minute actually increases alpha waves, which induce calmness in both the left and right sides of the brain. The result is that you calm down and relax, similar to whistling a tune. Research has also shown that this “alpha state” can help with your learning process, creativity and more importantly, becoming more calm.
