What are the Pros and Cons of online classes

Online learning is just like a technological innovation- no one turned back after the telephone, television, automobile, or internet entered the marketplace. The same is likely going to be true for online distance learning. The widespread of coronavirus has led to moving towards online classes by schools, colleges, and coachings. Online learning has emerged as a mandatory resource for students all over the world. Most of us are aware that online classes are a completely different experience from a traditional classroom setup. Although these classes are able to migrate the loss of studies to some extent, they have imposed some major concerns as well.

Some studies show that with the proper technology, online learning is actually more effective than in-person. Online Classes provide students flexibility. Students can work from the comfort of their homes. It has eliminated the time and cost required to reach the school and college and prevented the loss of studies in critical conditions of lockdown.  Online classes have reduced the necessity of traveling daily to attend coaching classes. Students are not required to face the rush of traffic. Students can take more breaks when needed. Instead, students can have a glass of water or milk, freshen up and start learning at the convenience of their home. Students can learn without fear/anxiety about judging them. Students who feel embarrassed asking for help may be easier to come forward. Students have more opportunities and ways of learning. Students can easily communicate with teachers through different methods ( e.g. text, audio-video).  Students can easily clarify their doubts instantly on the spot with the online teacher.

. Though students are trying to manage their studies, there are some major concerns. One of the biggest is that internet connectivity is not proper in many places. So, students are not able to connect to the classes. Online learning must create a sense of isolation. If students no longer have opportunities to connect with classmates in or outside the classroom, their growth may become stunted. Students may begin to feel lonely, isolated, or less connected with their social group and may even lose their interest in their studies. Everyone learns in their own manner. Online learning required additional training for instructors. One of the major problems is the lack of One to One teaching due to it students find it difficult to ask questions if they have any doubt. Online learning means more screen time. The overuse of these electronic devices for students has resulted in various health issues. Online learning requires more time than on-campus classes. Online Classes give students more freedom, perhaps, more than they can handle.

. At present both students and teachers have adopted this new model of education and they are trying to get used to it with each passing day. We need to discuss how to support students which are facing problems in online learning. If we can try to resolve the problems related to this model, it will be a great revolution in the coming years. The future is going to be bright by using this technology and advantages are going to be increased.
