History:
Zero was basically known as “Shunya” in the Hindi language. After translating the Hindi word ‘Shunya,’ it became ‘Sifr’ in Arabic language, then ‘Zephyr’ in Latin. Later ‘Zephyr’ became ‘Zero.’
In the same way, it was called by different words in different languages such as Cyfra in Polish, Cifra in Spanish, Zero in French, Ziffer in German, Siffra in Swedish, and Meighen in Greek.
Addition of zero in the Arabic language:
In AD 813, astronomical tables were prepared by a Persian mathematician, Muhammad Ibn Musa-al-Khwarizmi, using Hindi numerals.
About AD 825, he published a book synthesizing Greek and Hindi knowledge and contained his own contribution to mathematics, including an application of zero.
Muhammad Ibn Musa-al-Khwarizmi, in AD 976, stated that " If no number appears in the place of tens in a calculation, a little circle should be used to keep the rows."
This circle was called Sifr.

Zero is a number that qualifies an amount or a count of null size. In most cultures, zero was identified before the idea of negative things such as quantities less than zero was accepted.
As we know that the sum of zero numbers, such as the empty sum is always zero, but the product of zero numbers, such as the empty product, is always one because the factorial 0! As a special case of the empty product evaluates to 1.
Zero is an even number because it is divisible by 2, leaving no remainder.
Zero is neither negative nor positive, nor both positive and negative, usually displayed as a central number in a number line.
It cannot be prime because it has an infinite number of factors and cannot be composite because it cannot be expressed as a product of prime numbers (as 0 must always be one of the factors).
Zero is used in numerals systems with positional notation. Successive positions of digits have higher weights, so the digit zero is used inside a numeral to skip a position and give appropriate weights to the preceding and following digits.
Zero has no multiplicative inverse.

Following are some basic properties for dealing with the number zero:
1. 0 is the Identity element with respect to Addition since x + 0= x= 0 + x

2. 0 will give the same number if it subtracts or to be subtracted by any number such as x-0=x and 0-x = -x
3. The Product of zero with any other number is always zero, such as x.0 = 0.x = 0
4. If zero is divided by any other number, the result will be zero. Still, if zero divides any other number, the result will be undefined because zero has no multiplicative inverse.
5. If zero is the exponent of any number, then the result will always be 1.

The value of zero is well known today as it holds the highest value today. It is the greatest invention on which every calculation depends. Without the invention of zero, the binary system and the computer are not possible.s.
