Acne mainly affects people in the age group of 12 to 24 years. The cause of acne is difficult to diagnose. However, excessive secretion of sebaceous glands is often identified as the cause of acne outbreaks.
Except for the surface of the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet, hair follicles and sebaceous glands are found in skin tissues throughout the body. They are responsible for secreting an oily substance called sebum. However, due to many factors (such as hormonal imbalance, stress and normal skin condition) the oil glands may be induced to produce more serums than normal. When this happens, the excess oil plugs into the pores of the skin. This process leads to bacterial infections and stimulates the immune system's response. Ultimately, acne results in inflammation.
Acne can affect any skin type. An oily skin type is most suitable for acne. Dry skin, on the other hand, may not be as sensitive, but it can cause severe outbreaks in the winter. Common skin is equally sensitive to acne, but the severity may not be as high.
Currently, acne is not completely curable, but acne can be treated with various skin care methods. Many take the help of topical medications, which are applied to the skin surface. However, using acne skin care products like "pore strip pads" can eliminate whiteheads and blackheads, but they will have no effect on the excess sebum produced.
For remedies and prevention, it is best to use the following 8 simple tips:
- A healthy, balanced diet must be observed. Therefore, your diet must include all the essential nutrients that the body needs for functioning.
- Drink plenty of fluids such as water, juice. But carbonated drinks should be reduced.
- Less make-up is recommended.
- Rinse your face with mild soap and water. The rationale is not to remove dirt (as most acne sufferers realize) but to remove skin pores plugs, which can be a combination of dead skin cells, bacteria and hardened sebum. Although dirt is not actually the cause of acne, it can contribute to further infection through skin debris and particles and interaction with excess oil on the skin.
- Use a topical cleansing pad that may contain one or a combination of the following: salicylic acid, sulfur and benzoyl peroxide to remove excess oil. Another way to reduce the presence of excess oil on the skin is to wash your face with warm water like face wash, which you can tolerate.
- Reduce the use of harsh cleansers and use acne skin care items that lightly exfoliate. Do not scrub the affected area vigorously.
- When your hands are dirty, do not touch your face.
- If you have long hair, tie your hair so that it is away from the face. This is especially so if the weather is hot, and you are sweating.
Preventive Acne Skin Care Measures As important as acne treatment itself. With prevention, at least, you know how to make sure your acne problem doesn't get worse and spread to a larger infected area.
That's all for today. Next time, I will come up with another important topic.
