The department of Head in the Philippines recommended that Hong Kong should be in the Red list. Because the variant is found in Hong Kong recently. As of now, Hong Kong is in the green list.

It is important to mention that if the government of the Philippines puts Hong Kong in red list, they will be removed automatically from green list. There are a lot of workers who are working in Hong Kong are Filipino/Filipina. They are worried about it right now.

What could be possibly changed, based on last year, when the new variant was found?

* They may be strict of their border control.
* They may be imposed travel restrictions

* More countries may be removed from green list.

Note: The people who are coming from a country where the new variant is found, you need to be up-to-date when you're going to travel another country Like Thailand or Philippines. It is because countries are giving more restrictions due to new variant.

The government of the Philippines is discussing the new variant right now. As of now the new variant of COVID-19 is found in Belgium, United Kingdom, Israel, Italy, Germany and Australia. According to last year, the Philippines imposed travel ban on those countries where the new variant was found. So, there will be a chance to see more red list countries. We are praying that it will not happen again because we cannot get a lot of benefits  by banning countries. We had a lot of cases of COVID-19 after banning countries last year.

The new variant of COVID-19 is considered as "Variant Of Concern" according to World Health Organization. It is significant to mention that there is no more information about this new variant right now. Scientists  are working for it.
