Gaming streaming services allow you to play as if you have a gaming PC or console in front of you, which is only available on a server located elsewhere in the country. These services give you access to the great power to play for a monthly fee; all you need is a decent PC or mobile device to play it. We are here to show you how these services work, how much they cost, and what we have explored so far. As you can imagine, you need a fast network connection to make these services useful. If your internet connection is slow or inconsistent, the input you are sending will not appear correctly, and you will experience game decline and errors. More than half a second between your commands and the system response can make the game unplayable. Depending on the game streaming service, you will need at least a 5Mbps to 20Mbps internet connection. You do not need a cable connection, but it does work, as does 5GHz Wi-Fi. You do not want to miss out on these services, and you should consider their fiber connection when available locally. With fast and continuous communication, the game can be heard instantly, according to the millisecond input. This makes most of the games playable, although it may be slow in competitive play. If you control multiplayer shooting or fighting games, the whole frame can make a difference, and you may not want to rely on broadcast service in those situations. The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate game feature does not have a Windows 10 client (coming to the Xbox operating system later this year), but you can try using a web browser. You can also use a smartphone to play games on many live streaming services. Every service except PlayStation Now has the Android app, although the iOS game streaming ecosystem has greatly improved, there is some conflict in allowing certain services to run on iPhones and iPads. Just remember that you will be playing console and PC games on the small screen of a smartphone or tablet, which can be frustrating.
A few services also have TV options and additional hardware. For example, Google Stadia installs the Stadia controller that you pair with Chromecast Ultra to access Stadia on your TV (the service still does not use Chromecast with Google TV, but performance will be added later this month).

Amazon Luna works with other Bluetooth gamepads, but Luna Control is the best way to play this service. GeForce Now works best with Xbox Wireless Controller, but you can use any wireless gamepad that is compatible with XInput. PlayStation Now works with DualShock 4, DualSense, and Xbox controls.
Shadow, on the other hand, works with any compatible Windows 10 gamepad, but you'll also need a keyboard and mouse. After all, you can access a Windows 10 PC directly, so the ability to move the pointer and enter text is useful. You can use a touch screen and an on-screen keyboard when using the Shadow Android app, but if you want to get the most out of Windows PC, you really need a mouse and keyboard.
