Exercise to lose weight
There are two things you need to do to lose weight, and one of the ones we have already covered so much is proper nutrition and filling your body with clean, clean water. Another thing to do is to get your body moving. You do not need to buy a gym membership to exercise. In fact, there are several things you can do every day that will help kick your body in weight loss, and there are many exercises you can do on your own to lose weight.
TIP # 1: Do not be discouraged if you do not see immediate results when you start exercising, either at home or in the gym. Many people mistakenly believe that physical activity does not work for a short time. It takes more than a week to make your body stand up and start making progress.
If you push your body too hard when you start exercising, you could end up injured. Your bones, joints, and muscles are not prepared for your efforts. Do not think that working hard for a few exercises will cost you money; unfortunately, the body does not work this way. Slow and steady wins the race when it comes to exercise.
TIP # 2: Check your weight when you start exercising but do not use it as a guide for weight loss. Your weight changes throughout the day. If you check your weight daily, you may just get discouraged.
TIP # 3: The best way to find out is to lose weight in proportion to your clothes. It is good for you if you start to feel like you are floating in your clothes, and then you know you are eating and exercising. One way to find out if you are losing weight is to start moving where you usually fasten your seat belt.
TIP # 4: If you periodically check your weight and the fit of your clothes, you will be rewarded. Buy yourself new running shoes or new jeans. This will help to motivate you as you pursue your weight loss goals.
TIP # 5: Take your day to exercise to give your body a chance to relax and adjust. Your body needs one day a week.
TIP # 6: Three days of 30 minutes of exercise will help you maintain your weight, but you need at least four days of 30 minutes of exercise to start losing weight, and 5 days a week is best.
TIP # 7: Gather information on exercise and simple things to do in your home. There are tons of in-depth research available on exercise, and you can choose what will best help you meet your weight loss goals. Browse the Internet or download some health and fitness books from your local bookstore or library to learn more about how to burn the calories you try to burn each week.
TIP # 8: Try to find a friend to exercise with. This should be a person who is committed to exercising and losing weight as you are. One of the benefits of having a committed partner is having someone who will continue to feel responsible for them. The knowledge that someone is waiting for you makes it easier for you to get out of bed and go to the gym with him. You would not want to get up from your gym, would you?
TIP # 9: When your body tells you enough, take a break. When you work long hours, you will begin to receive signals from your body. This is especially important when you are just starting your exercise program.
TIP # 10: If you decide to increase your workload, do it slowly. It’s the same with the intensity of your workout.
TIP # 11: Choose an exercise program that suits your lifestyle. Everyone has a different way of life and a different job. There is no set time to work or not to exercise. Suppose you like to exercise late before bed because it relaxes you to do it. If you like to exercise early in the morning because it helps you get up, it is good. Some people like to exercise during their lunch break to take a break from the stress of their job or because that is the only time they have.
TIP # 12: Don't stand around; walk around. If you can walk around, then do it. The pacers are actually doing the best they can because they are always on the move. Pacing also helps you think.
TIP # 13: Do not sit if you can stand. If you cannot stand up straight, you will burn more calories than you would otherwise.
TIP # 14: Don't lie down if you can sit still. Same idea as the two above.
TIP # 15: Bed and television are for weight loss. If you tend to be a bed bug, don't sit on it. In fact, if necessary, place a comfortable chair in front of the television so that you do not spend too much time in front of it. The same goes for computers if you are a computer enthusiast. Some people have a more comfortable seat in front of their computer than they do with their television. (This is true if you do not work from home and need to work hours in front of your computer because your seat is critical at that time.)
TIP # 16: If you have a job where you live all the time, get up and stretch every half hour anyway. Many of today’s tasks are in front of a computer and require you to stay. If you have a job like this, make it a point to travel regularly.
TIP # 17: Navigate while on the phone. You will get a good workout if it is a long conversation.
TIP # 18: Use the stairs instead of the elevator or the escalator. These are perfect things, but they make us very lazy. Also, it may be faster to take the stairs than to wait for the elevator to open.
TIP # 19: Quit smoking. Smoking does not contribute to your exact balance, but it does lead to poor eating habits and increases caffeine dependence.
TIP # 20: 10 minutes of cardio a day is best for most; you can get this.
Tip #21: Use a chart, such as the one below, to assist you in your weight loss endeavors. This chart shows you how many calories each of these common exercises burn, based on 20 minutes.
