General Information: Cactus is a genus of flowering plants. Often with small spines at the tip. The flap and root are medically useful. Cactus is widely used in cosmetics. Cactus belongs to the Liliana plant family. It is native to Africa. It also grows naturally in Greece, Barbados, China, Italy, Venezuela, South Africa, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. This species is highly endemic to Africa. It is commonly found in the Cape region of South Africa, in the mountains of tropical Africa, and in neighboring islands of Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, and Madagascar.
Composition of cactus: -
Most cactus species have large rose petal-like structure and thick, fleshy leaves. Most cactus species are found without stems. It grows in a rose petal-like structure directly from the ground; In other varieties, the stem may be branched or not branched. It may have fleshy leaves. They vary in color from gray to deep green. Sometimes they can be the same color or multiple colors. Some types of cactus that grow in South Africa look like trees.
It grows in arid conditions in mountainous areas up to 1000 ft above sea level. The leaves are thick, slightly reddish-green, 30 to 60 cm long, with small spines. The flowers of the cactus are tubular, mostly yellow, pale red or reddish, densely clustered, and the leafless stalks with branches. An evergreen perennial, it can be grown in tropical and subtropical fences. This succulent plant can live for many seasons.
Three varieties of cactus are cultivated. They are: -

The first two types are cultivated for the chemicals "barbaric" and "aloe emo DIN". Their "gel" is made of a substance called "Mizar" which is used as a pain reliever.
