First things that you should keep in mind before donating blood?
* First get your health checkup and blood test done so that you and your blood are completely healthy and the level of hemoglobin in the blood is at least 12.5%.
* Keep in mind that any healthy and fit person, who does not have any kind of infection, can donate blood. Such youth of 18 to 20 years can also donate blood whose weight is 50 kg.
* If you have high blood pressure, kidney disease or diabetes or epilepsy, do not donate blood.
* Women who have had a miscarriage should not donate blood for 6 months.
* If any kind of vaccination has been done from the donor in the last one month.
* If you have consumed alcohol, then blood should not be donated for 24 hours.
* Eat plenty of iron rich food such as fish, meat, beans and spinach etc. Donating blood causes iron deficiency in the body. Iron works to deliver oxygen to various parts of the body. Its deficiency can cause weakness and dizziness. Apart from this, drink plenty of liquids and get enough sleep and relax a day before donating blood.
* Eat plenty of vitamin C rich fruits like Amla, orange and lemon so that iron can be absorbed in the body at the right time and completely. Stay away from junk food, ice cream and chocolate.
* After this, before donating blood, wherever you go to the blood camp or hospital, ensure the cleanliness of the surroundings and the cleanliness of the equipment. Also check that the syringe is new.

What to do after donating blood?
