What are the Advantages and disadvantages of RO water

Reverse osmosis: What is it?

This method was initially developed to make seawater more palatable for everyday use. Additionally, these devices were created to purge tap water of heavy metals and other chemical pollutants.

Reverse osmosis, in its simplest form, is a procedure that purifies your tap water and eliminates various dissolved mineral types.

The dissolved substances in your tap water can be measured with a TDS meter. The TDS measurements, however, cannot be used as the basis for your decision. Your tap water contains a lot of minerals if the TDS rating of the plain water is greater than 150 PPM. And this might be advantageous.

ADVANTAGES OF RO WATER

These products are tested water filters that can be used to clean tap water.

Taste is a personal experience. However, according to the National Rural Water Association, consumers who compare the two in blind taste tests typically rank RO water as having a superior flavour than tap water. Tap water is frequently tasteless due to contaminants like lead, iron, nitrates, sulfur-based compounds, and different chemical residues. These impurities are eliminated through reverse osmosis treatment, which also improves the flavour of drinking water.

The high mineral content of unfiltered water, particularly the calcium and magnesium, makes the water hard. Utilizing items like water glasses, culinary equipment, water storage appliances, etc., deposits the minerals contained in hard water into the water. As a result of corrosion and mineral accumulation, appliances may last less time or break down more quickly. Using RO purified water will allow us to solve these issues.

Unfiltered water is known to include chemicals and heavy metals like chlorine, aluminium, and mercury that dry out our skin and degrade collagen. Additionally, these toxins have the power to remove the oils from our hair, leaving it dry and brittle. Our skin, body, and hair are all nourished by pure water without suffering any harm.

We likely need to consume twice as much water to truly feel satisfied if we drink chemically treated water from our household taps.

Your tap water will be cleansed of germs and heavy metals following filtering.

There will be more TDS in the filtered water.

DISADVANTAGES OF RO WATER

These devices can waste a lot of water during the filtration process

Require a lot of maintenance for safety and effectiveness

Can remove minerals as well, such as bicarbonates, potassium, magnesium, and Calcium

Normal tap or supply water has a ph value of 7. It means water is neither acidic nor basic. But when water passes through Reverse Osmosis process, it removes harmful dissolved solids, minerals and salts. Because of this ph level of water sometimes drops down to 5 or 5.5 and this makes water a little acidic. This happens because pure water grabs more CO2 from air.

These devices are more expensive to purchase

THE ANSWER TO THEIR PROBLEMS

Numerous foods contain calcium and magnesium, two more vital elements that are not solely found in water. Include these foods in your diet to keep your body's mineral balance in check.

Magnesium-containing foods

leafy green vegetables (e.g. spinach)

Fruits (figs, avocado, banana, and raspberries) (figs, avocado, banana, and raspberries)

seeds and nuts

Vegetables (peas, broccoli, cabbage, green beans) (peas, broccoli, cabbage, green beans)

Seafood (salmon, mackerel, tuna) (salmon, mackerel, tuna)

whole grains (brown rice and oats)

Chocolate, dark

food sources of calcium
