The Common Admission Test (CAT) is regarded as one of the most difficult tests in India. Many students study for years in order to perform well on the CAT. Because a high CAT percentile is required to gain admission to the IIMs, India's top colleges, and other prestigious B-schools. Every y ear, this test will be held on November , at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta. So the exam was still about 3 months away. If you have submitted your application for the CAT exam but have not yet begun your preparation, you may be feeling anxious as you observe other applicants who have been preparing for the exam since the beginning of the year. Then just take a deep breath and relax!! You still have time to study well for the exam in order to achieve a good CAT percentile and gain admission to a good MBA course. Simply plan a good strategy based on the following considerations and work accordingly.
1. Gather all of the necessary items for preparation-
Divide your study time into three sections: basic, intensive, and practise tests. First and first, completely read the books/materials (according to your curriculum) to ensure that your concepts are clear. After you've mastered the fundamentals, move on to the more challenging level questions. Then you should take a mock exam series. As a result, gather your materials properly. Remember to get and practise previous year's question papers.
2. Consistency is important since every day counts-
Keep a calendar on your study table and tick down the days as they pass to see how much time you have left until the exam. You must understand that you do not have a single day to waste doing activities that are not productive. If you keep taking pauses, you'll lose track of how fast you're studying instead of speeding up. Make a schedule based on dates and do your duties properly.
3. Time management and concentration-
Concentration is a critical component of exam success. Working people, in particular, who are unable to devote a significant amount of time to education, should be more concentrated. On weekdays, they should study for 2-4 hours and on weekends, they should study for 7-8 hours. Every aspirant should make it a habit to study for 2 - 2.5 hours with complete concentration, then take a 5-minute break before returning to study for another 1-2 hours.
4. Develop your language and numerical problem-solving skills.
The ability to solve logical and numerical data is given higher weight in the CAT exam. If you are strong in all of these areas, the outcome may be favourable to you. So, take care of this and make the necessary preparations.
5. Recognize your assets-
It is not necessary to excel in all topics. As a result, learn to play to your advantages. More questions in the part where you excel should be attempted.
6. Develop your ability to think quickly-
Try addressing the same problem in a variety of ways. Make an effort to grasp the shout cuts. It aids in the development of quick-thinking abilities, allowing you to attempt more questions in a test with greater accuracy.
7. Take practise tests-
Your scores may appear to be pitiful at first, but do not be alarmed. Continue to practise the test series. After each exam series, the most important thing you should do is assess the question patterns and your performance, identifying your strengths and weaknesses.
Who may take the CAT exam?
To be eligible for the CAT Exam, a candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50 percent (for General Category and for candidates from the NC-OBC caste). The required percentage for SC/ST and Differently Abled (DA) candidates is 45 percent.
The CAT Exam Pattern for 2022 is predicted to follow the same pattern as CAT 2021. The CAT 2022 Notification will be released in July 2022.
