What are some Interesting facts about BTS?

If I tell you that BTS is one of the biggest (and best) things to happen in this decade, it won't come as a surprise. Whether or not you are a fan of Korean entertainment, you undoubtedly saw the lads blow the roof off the stage with their dances and record-breaking vocals.

This boy band has accomplished a lot since making their debut in 2013 and the years that have followed. The band's members, Jin, J-Hope, V, Suga, Jungkook, RM, and Jimin, have a variety of musical styles that appeal to listeners of different preferences.

One of the reasons the boy band is so well-liked by their young fans is that some of the themes on which their songs are based deal with serious subjects like mental health and bereavement.

1. The acronym BTS, which stands for "bulletproof boy scouts," is Bangtan Sonyeondan.

You did hear correctly. The band is commonly referred to as BTS, but few people are aware that its full name is Bangtan Sonyeondan, which is Korean for "bulletproof boy scouts." One of the members, J-Hope, explained that the name represents the group's main goal, which is to combat stereotypes, critiques, and expectations that use young people as "bullets" in their attacks. However, the group revealed in July 2017 that BTS now stands for "Beyond the Scene" as well, a tribute to youth moving on and confronting realities of life, with their new brand identity.

2. Adorable Representative: ARMY MC for Children

Isn't that cute? You recently learned that BTS thinks their fans are "adorable," so there! The band's members claim that much as ARMY is military, BTS is the armor, a metaphor for how the band and its followers fit together like puzzle pieces. But wait, BTS's singer RM said in an interview that they almost called their fandom "The Bells" since the word "bell" sounds similar to the word "bang wool" in Korean. So the "Bangtan" bang and the bells' (and the fans') bangs blended together nicely!

3. The band's music frequently takes place in a parallel reality.

No, we are not referring to the universe that BTS's music takes you to whenever you put on your headphones. The Bangtan Universe, or BTS Universe, is a fictional storyline that includes short films, books, webtoons, and music videos, following the characters who are based on the band members! It was established by BTS's management business, Big Hit Entertainment! Every music video made today incorporates the universe, which was first done with the song I Need U.

4. The South Korean economy has benefited greatly from BTS.

BTS has improved not only the music (and dance) standards of the entertainment business but also South Korea's tourism economy. According to a study by the Hyundai Research Institute, 1 in 13 tourists claimed that BTS alone was the reason they came to the country. This has in many ways fuelled demand for Korean dramas and skincare products.

5. BTS is worth millions of dollars.

BTS's net worth is incredible, much like their music is. BTS has a net worth that is estimated at $100 million thanks to their success in the music industry, touring, and brand sponsorships, among other things.

6. RM, the leader of the group, picked up English through watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

RM admitted to learning English from the well-known American sitcom Friends in an interview with Ellen Degeneres. He added that his parents, like many other Korean parents, had pushed him to watch Friends when he was fourteen or fifteen years old. At the time, it felt like "torture," but he views himself as the lucky one because of his mother! RM typically represents the band during interviews in English.

7. BTS was the first K-pop act to get an emoji on Twitter.

BTS earned their Twitter emojis in 2016, just three years after their debut. They were also the first Korean account on Twitter to have 10 million followers. Let's assume that BTS is adept at building a following on social media! They are undoubtedly the influencers we need today with over 34 million followers on Twitter, over 51 million on Instagram, and over 62 million subscribers on YouTube.

Did we mention that some of their music videos have received over one billion views on YouTube alone? Yes, by yourself.
