If you've ever read an article about eBay, you've seen the types of income people are making. It's not uncommon to hear from people making thousands of dollars a month on eBay.
Next time you're on eBay, take a look at how many Power Sellers there are - you'll find quite a few. Now consider that each of them must earn at least $1,000 per month, as this is eBay's requirement to become a Power Seller. Silver Power Sellers earn at least $3,000 each month, while Gold Power Sellers earn over $10,000 and the Platinum tier is $25,000. The highest rank is Titanium Power Seller, and to qualify you must make at least $150,000 in sales every
month! The fact that these people exist gives you an idea of the earning potential here. Most of them didn't even start an eBay business - they just started selling a few things and then moved on. There are many people whose full-time job is selling things on eBay, and some of them have been doing it for years. Can you believe it? Once they've bought the shares, everything else for these people is pretty much pure profit: they don't have to pay for business, personal, or anything else. There are multi-million dollar companies that make less real profit than eBay Power sellers.
Even if you don't want to quit your job and really want to make an effort, you can earn a considerable second income with eBay. You can pack orders during the week and take them to the post office every Saturday. There are few other things you could do with your free time that come close to having such earning potential.
Also, eBay doesn't care who you are, where you live or what you look like: Some Power Sellers are very old or very young. Some live in the middle of nowhere, where selling on eBay is one of the few alternatives to farming or poverty. eBay is tearing down the earning barriers that the real world is constantly putting up. There's no interview or commute - if you can post anything, you can.
Put it this way: If you know where you can get something reasonably cheap to sell, you can sell it on eBay, and since you can always get wholesale volume discounts, that's not exactly difficult. Buy a working batch of something cheap on demand, sell it on eBay, and you're already making money, with no setup costs.
If you want to dip your toe in the water before you commit to buying anything, consider selling the things you have around the house. Search through the closet of stuff you never use, and you'll probably find that you have a few hundred dollars worth of stuff lying around! That's eBay's strength: there's always someone who wants what you're selling, whatever it is, and since they're looking for you, you don't even have to do anything to get them to sell it to you to buy.
