What are Asteroids?

There are countless astronomical events that make astronomy so fascinating. The fact is that the universe is a dynamic, ever-changing universe, which some may call “living things” because you do not know what you will see on any particular night sky.

 

But in most celestial spheres, there is probably nothing more exciting than watching your first flight in the sky. Calling asteroids the “rock stars” of astronomy at the same time is ridiculous but is an accurate reflection of the way astronomers view them. Unlike the sun, planets and moons, asteroids move, change constantly and, when they emerge from the night sky, are exciting and dynamic.

 

Like rock stars, asteroids have been given their fair share of urban myths and legends. Many say that the extinction of dinosaurs had a profound effect on the atmosphere. This view is somewhat credible and, if true, evokes a grim picture of horror and horror in the modern way of restoring the earth, the human race.

 

The fact that asteroids are a fast-moving spacecraft only makes their movement and activity interesting and enjoyable. Unlike the moon, the planet or the star, the probability that an asteroid could hit the earth is completely reasonable and in fact, there are many recorded cases of small asteroids building up in our atmosphere and leaving the most amazing craters on Earth.

 

Popular culture has happily embraced the concept of asteroid impact. This theory has created a myriad of scientific myths which adds to the idea that species may have taken asteroids to our planet and started a "world war" situation. But so far, the most talked about concept that has captured the imagination and horror of fans of science fiction and the general public is another bomb blast that is said to have occurred with dinosaurs. In fact, the film “Armageddon” was based on the idea and the idea that humans could never completely avoid it.

 

But perhaps the best way to alleviate our fears and instead of science fiction is by understanding and knowledge. The fact is, there has been much research into asteroid activity and the important scientific community has acquired valuable knowledge of these amazing celestial bodies. Numerous studies on asteroids have provided us with a wealth of information about their structure and how to predict their behavior.

 

We now know that most of the asteroids we see are from the asteroid belt that exists between Mars and Jupiter. In this asteroid community from which many remarkable asteroids emerged. Scientists have discovered important information about the structure of asteroids and have divided them into categories that include Class S from nearby Mars, C, D and V and the plane patterns called "Centaurs" that bring them closer to Jupiter and Uranus.

 

Other studies by NASA on flying asteroids have made important studies of these celestial bodies. In 1994 the Galileo probe landed 1000 miles from the asteroid Ida and discovered that Ida actually had its own moon.

 

Some probes have fired asteroids and even landed in space to produce spectacular scientific information. There is much we can learn about asteroids from our love of the stars and that knowledge only makes our enjoyment of seeing them in the universe even more enjoyable.
