What all we need to do after taking Covid-19 Vaccine?

In this challenging situation, people are a little nervous about the vaccination process. Here I want to share some do’s and don’ts that we need to keep in mind before and after every dose of vaccine.

DO'S

Staying hydrated is extremely important both before and after the vaccination; drink a lot of water and have other liquids to keep hydrated. Common side effects of covid-19 vaccines include headache, muscle pain, fatigue, and fever. It is essential to stay hydrated as it will mitigate the impact of the vaccine.

Do not take vaccine on an empty stomach. Eat a well-balanced diet to avoid serious side effects. Eat well before you go for your vaccine dose and include leafy vegetables, food rich in antioxidants that help boost immunity. Fruits rich in Vitamin C can also aid in fighting the vaccine side effects.

Get good, peaceful sleep at night. Good Night’s Sleep plays a vital role as it helps in boosting immunity, which is scientifically proven.

Consult your doctor before the vaccination if you are on steroids or blood thinners.

Inform your team members about the unavailability at the office and plan your tasks accordingly, so you do not have anxiety about your work as you have to visit the vaccination center.

Another essential thing is ready to take any vaccine available at the center at the given time as all vaccines are proven safe and effective, so no need to worry about that.

It is also advisable that you try to wear a sleeveless or short-sleeved shirt, t-shirt, or top so that you can easily take the vaccine on your arm.

If you feel like having symptoms of covid-19, cancel your appointment and rebook after 14 days or talk to your doctor.

Don’t forget to carry your id card for the registration, wear a mask, and keep a proper distance. Safety is better than cure.

DONT’S

It is advisable to avoid tobacco or alcohol consumption after or before vaccination. Alcohol also affects the body’s immune system negatively, and there is a chance that the immune response to the vaccine may not be less effective if there is excessive alcohol in the system.

Do consult your doctor if after vaccination you experience Covid-19 symptoms.

This vaccine is to improve your immunity, but no vaccine has a 100 percent success rate. Hence, after taking the vaccination, keep all the precautions like wearing a mask, washing hands regularly, and maintaining a distance.

It is also advisable that there should be a gap of at least 28 days between the two doses.

Be mentally calm and do not react to other person’s gossips about the vaccination as different people have different reactions or side effects, so always consult your doctor before taking any medicine.

Important Tip

Download your vaccination certificate and keep it with you in the future that may be useful in the workplace or travel from one country to another.

Take some actions to slow or eventually stop the spread of the virus.

  • At least keep a distance of 1 meter from others.
  • Wear a mask in crowded, closed, and poorly ventilated places.
  • Frequently clean your hands.
  • During cough or sneeze, cover it with a bent elbow.

Doing it all protects us.

“Stay Safe, healthy, and strong both physically and mentally.”
