Controversy continues over #Zakki Vasudev's snake-handling act - What does Esha say?
A complaint has been lodged against #Zakki Vasudev, the founder of #Isha Yoga Foundation, in #Chikkaballapur, Karnataka, for using a python in his program in violation of the Wildlife Protection Act.
In a statement issued by the #Isha Foundation in response, it said that the snake that entered the place during the #Naga #Puja was rescued and released into the nearby forest, considering its safety and the safety of the people there.
However, it is said that before this, he used to display the snake in his hand many times during #pujas and speeches on the platforms. Some of Esha's videos also show that.
The complaint, filed by Prithviraj, a member of SPCA, Karnataka, states, "Sadhguru inappropriately kept an illegally caught saber snake. He displayed it on stage in front of a crowd on October 9 and 10 amid bright lights. The snake has not yet been handed over to the forest department." .

Further, "We request that a case be registered #and immediate action be taken against the founder of #Isha Foundation, Sadhguru, to control the founder who destroys wildlife and nature. Otherwise, his followers may do the same," the complaint said.
When Prithviraj, who filed the complaint, was asked about this, he said, "Displaying snakes like this in public places is an offense under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. He was displaying the snake as a display during the #puja. It is illegal, so we have filed a complaint to take action against it."
Wildlife expert #Sharad #Babu, who has been working against illegal wildlife poaching and trafficking in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for the past 30 years, said, "We have taken these efforts as a precaution so that we do not do the same in Tamil Nadu as in the case of forests and wildlife."
In a statement released on the complaint, #Zakki Vasudev said, "A complaint has been filed with the #Chikkaballapur district forest department on false information. Actually, the snake entered the place on October 9 when the #Naga #Puja event was going on.
A volunteer brought the snake to Sadhguru's attention. Sadhguru gently handled the snake and released it safely into the nearby forest. The snake was not injured or confined in any way as alleged in the complaint. The police who were there at the time of the incident also knew about it.
#Jaggi Vasudev handles the most dangerous dragon, with children sitting just a few feet away as spectators.
He spoke at the event to clear the possible misunderstandings about snakes and create awareness about their conservation," it said.
This is not a new incident
This has happened before with the #Jaggi #Vasudev snake handling case. There are also videos of him speaking at events with a snake in his hands for a long time on social media.
A few years ago, during a speech on the importance of snakes in spirituality, a video of him holding a snake in his hand for more than twenty minutes was shared on social media.
With his arms wrapped around the body of the snake and rubbing it from time to time, #Jaggi #Vasudev is seen talking about snakes in spirituality for a long time. The event took place in front of the #Linga #Bhairavi #Sannithan inside the #Isha Trust premises.
