Microbus did not come, trolley buses were running, shared bus was serving.  Tempo used to reach limited places in the afternoon,  Petrol Tempo was also there - a taxi for middle-income earners. It used to run on meters. Buses and tempos did not run after 8:30 pm. There was nightlife, but only the rich. There were few taxis at the taxi stand.    

 Ajay, 3 years had passed since he came to Kathmandu to study and work. Western Nepal had a Maoist stronghold, but Kathmandu was safe as it was the capital of the country. He used to work as an accountant at a  lab in  in the afternoon and studied at the  campus in the morning.
