Many of us like to start the day with a hot cup that we enjoy after brushing our teeth. But Dr. Newport Rotate, a certified yoga instructor and homeopathic physician, recently shared on Instagram that Ayurveda recommends starting the morning with a glass of water on an empty stomach.
:Drink water right after waking up in the morning, before brushing your teeth!"
:The importance of drinking adequate amounts of water throughout the day cannot be stressed enough. Water not only helps a person stay hydrated, but also regulates body temperature and maintains bodily functions such as flushing waste from the kidneys, producing saliva, and also making nutrients available to different parts of the body.
:The following are reasons why one should drink water first thing in the morning:
Bacteria accumulate in the mouth while one sleeps; when you drink water in the morning, you also ingest these bacteria, which helps improve immunity.
* Improves digestion and prevents indigestion.
*Helps reduce high blood pressure Drinking water on an empty stomach also keeps oral health in check by reducing bad breath, as water helps to rehydrate and prevent dry mouth caused by lack of saliva in the mouth:
This can help fight disease and boost the immune system.
“Drink two glasses of water as soon as you wake up. Sit down and sip.”
:We generally don't recommend drinking a lot of water before bed, but a small amount is good."
:When is the best time to stop drinking water?
:It is often recommended to stop drinking water two hours before bedtime: This way, you don't flood your body with extra fluids that can cause an unwanted trip to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
:In moderation, drinking water in the evening can still be beneficial. Water is an essential nutrient that keeps your body hydrated, lubricates your joints, breaks down waste, and much more.
:It cleanses your body.
:Staying hydrated throughout the day and evening can help your body break down waste and release toxins through sweat.
:If you need to drink some water before you hit the hay—whether it's because your mouth is dry or you need to take your evening medicine—a little, but it's still okay.
:As a general rule, drink less than a glass of water in the last two hours before bed if you have to. And drink in small sips.
:That goes for extra late-night sips, too. Try to avoid liquids like alcohol, juice and tea in the last two hours before your head hits the pillow.
:While getting up occasionally to use the bathroom won't harm your health, it's important to remember that constantly interrupting your sleep can lead to a number of problems. After all, sleep is related to everything from our immune system to mental health. Severe sleep deprivation has been shown to be associated with:
*Memory loss.
*Infection.
*High blood pressure
* High cholesterol.
*Weight gain.
*Cancer.
:It helps regulate your body temperature.
:If you are in an extra warm environment or feel particularly hot, it may be beneficial to cool down with a little water before bed. Try sucking on ice cubes or taking small sips of water before bed.
:Be healthy, take care of yourself
