Maharashtra Political Crisis News Live Updates: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday appealed to the rebel MLA'S to come for talks. “Don’t fall prey to anyone’s missteps. The 'honor' is given to you by Shiv Sean cannot be found anywhere. If you come forward and speak, we will sort out the issues. As Shiv Sean party chief and family head, I am still worried about you. Come here for a dialogue,” he said.Meanwhile  rebel leader Elnath Shined stated that he will return to Mumbai soon and that his faction was taking “Balasaheb’s Shiv Sena forward”. He added that false information is being spread in public on MLA'S being in touch with Sena leaders. This came after, Shiv Sean MP claimed that the party was hopeful of the return of a few MLA'S, whom the party did not consider rebels as they were still in touch with them.

 

Shiv Sean MP Sanjay Raut who had been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case, sought more time to appear before the agency on Tuesday. Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Raut said that the Leader of the Opposition in Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis should not get involved in the crisis unfolding in the MVA government. “If they do, then their party (BJP), Fadnavis and PM Modi’s names will be tarnished,” Raut said.

 

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has convened a Cabinet meeting Tuesday afternoon, which he will attend virtually, news agency ANI reported. Amid the political turmoil in Maharashtra following a rebellion by MLA'S of the ruling Shiv Sean, senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday left for Delhi along with a legal counsel, a party functionary said.

 

"Fadnavis has left for New Delhi with a legal counsel. He will be meeting some senior BJP leaders there," the party functionary said.

Senior BJP leader and former Maharashtra minister Sudhir Mungantiwar earlier said he had attended a meeting at the official residence of Fadnavis in Mumbai, where a number of senior party leaders were also present.

 

Mungantiwar had also said his party was maintaining a "wait and watch" stand on the present political situation in the state. (PTI)Did NCP hold Uddhav hand, stop resignation, give him false hope?

With the view growing that the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena might have painted itself into a corner with its aggressive stand even as the rebels acquire numbers, some of his supporters are pointing fingers at the role of the NCP. Or, rather, at that of NCP supremo Sharad Pawar. 

 

According to sources, Uddhav had made up his mind to resign soon after it became clear that the situation had slipped out of his hands. Rebel leader Eknath Shinde on Tuesday stated that he will return to Mumbai soon. "We will go to Mumbai very soon... We are taking Balasaheb’s Shiv Sean forward."
