What About Homeopathic Medicine?

Introduction

Homeopathy is a safe, natural form of medicine, based on the practice of treating it as a standard. Homeopathy is derived from the Greek word homos, meaning similar or similar, and italics, meaning suffering.

Homeopathy is about treating a person who ends up, instead of being sick alone. The homeopath will consider the whole patient, physically and mentally, taking into account the patient's physical appearance, likes, dislikes and attitude. There is a very personal type of treatment, so patients who are obviously suffering from the same illness may be offered different medical advice.

Homeopathy is a well-established treatment. Today, many leading pharmaceutical companies are researching and producing a wide range of homeopathic medicines.

Homeopathic Medicine

Homeopathic remedies look like ordinary medicines, taken in the same way, but the way they work is completely different.

Medicines are not synthetic and are derived from natural sources. More than 60 percent of homeopathic remedies are prepared with herbal or vegetable ingredients. Some herbs are prepared by natural minerals, including metals, non-metals, and mineral salts. Animal sources of homeopathic remedies include: Cuttlefish (ink or juice provides sepia) and Honeybee.

Homeopathic remedies are prepared by obtaining a remedy in a highly concentrated way, and then, by a long cleansing process, by giving the medicine its sufficient strength to perform the treatment. Potency defines the dosage rate and is defined by the number following the name of the drug itself. When the number is high, the dilution becomes larger (the solution can be up to one to three million parts of the solvent).

Homeopathic Medicine

Homeopathic remedies, commonly called herbs, may be derived from plants, minerals, or animals. Other common remedies include:  Montana, from the Leopard's bane plant; belladonna, from the deadly nightshade plant; cascara, calcium carbonate from oyster shells; sepia, from cuttlefish ink; and the element, sulfur.

Homeopathic remedies today are produced using the same cleansing principles. In a 1: 100 standard dilution, one drop of homeopathic substance is added to 99 drops of water and / or alcohol. The mixture was intensified by a process  - repeated pushing on a solid surface for a certain length of time. Herbs can be diluted up to 1000 times, leaving a permanent trace of the tree. Herbs are usually diluted 10, 100, or 1,000 times, translating into a power marked with the Roman numerals X, C, and M. Homeopathic remedies range from 6X as very low energy to 1M or more than very high energy.

Remedies can be taken orally with pills, powders, or drops, rubbed on top, or injected. There are usually no side effects from homeopathic treatment, but the patient may experience what is called "severe cooling," a temporary emphasis on symptoms. This seems to be a good sign that the remedy is working. Depending on the severity of the symptoms, the homeopath may choose an antidote, which produces the opposite effect of the remedy. The remedy may be another homeopathic remedy, or a powerful substance, such as spices, camphor, or coffee, that are known for preventing the effects of the remedy.

In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recognized homeopathic medicines as drugs since 1938, working with the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia Convention to produce and update its homeopathic medicine reference book. Over the years, the FDA has classified homeopathic medicines as prescription or over-the-counter (except over the counter), depending on its potency. In the United Kingdom, homeopathic medicine has been part of the National Health Service (NHS) since its inception in 1948. Homeopathic remedies are available over the counter or over the counter.

 The Safety of Homeopathic Medicine

Due to the very small doses used in homeopathic medicine, the medicine is completely safe, non-toxic and has no unwanted side effects. Herbal remedies are freed from even the highest purity »and make the drug completely safe in the treatment of both children and infants.

Always consult a doctor before buying homeopathic remedies, and make sure they are kept safe and away from all children.

Where dosing instructions have been followed, no case of toxicity has been reported in conjunction with homeopathic medicine.

Getting Homeopathic Treatment

Homeopathic remedies are performed by fully trained GP's who understand the philosophy of homeopathic medicine and the emotional and daily conditions of patients.

Although some homeopathic remedies are readily available at both general pharmacies and health stores, you MUST consult your homeopathic physician before attempting to treat any serious illness or illness.

If you are currently on medication for a medical or psychiatric condition, you should NOT stop taking your medication to start homeopathic treatment. Your doctor will advise you on the best course of treatment, usually working with your occupational therapist or therapist.
