One of the top BCCI officials confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that the two-day blockbuster Indian Premier League auction will take place on February 7 and 8 in Bengaluru. It is possible that this could be the final mega auction that the BCCI will hold, given the majority of the original IPL clubs have expressed a desire for the tournament to be phased out.
"Unless the COVID-19 scenario deteriorates further, the IPL super auction will take place in India. An anonymous senior BCCI official confirmed that preparations were in the process of being completed. There have been rumours that the auction will take place in the United Arab Emirates, however the BCCI has stated that this is not the case at this time.

Nonetheless, if there are any limitations on international travel (unless all owners agree to utilise charter flights), holding the auction in India will be less of a logistical issue.
