What 5 Reasons To Volunteer For School At Least Once In Your Life

Volunteer for school work is booming. This is partly due to the globalization of the internet, which makes finding a place to collaborate just a click away. But more than anything, we 'Millennials' are a generation of hedonists who understand that life should be squeezed to the maximum. And that is trying to reverse the rules previously imposed by the Baby Boomers.

Like everything, volunteering in a renovation school has its defenders and its detractors so how this volunteer for school can harm local communities, for example, with entrepreneurs who try to base their entire team on people working only in exchange for accommodation to save permanent staff.

However, after having done it in several countries, we can say that volunteering for school is like life itself. We must pay close attention before jumping at the first opportunity that comes our way, do a little research (today, there is nothing that Google needs to know), and compare several organizations before making the final decision.

There is currently a large market for renovation schools, with agencies offering programs at exorbitant prices or even websites offering connections with hosts for somewhat more modest sums. In our experience, we have never spent a cent on finding a place to collaborate, so we attest that there are shortcuts to it. Of course, they take more time and basic digital skills, but it is possible.

Either way, volunteering for school is a style of collaboration that is extremely rewarding and valuable. And these are the reasons why, if you're considering doing it, you should take heart.

1.      It is extremely rewarding on a personal level.

We list this reason first, even though it sounds selfish, because, as human beings, it is quite unlikely that we will do something that does not bring us some satisfaction (or at least money) in return. With volunteers for school work, unexpected levels of gratification are achieved for unexpected reasons.

2.      It has the power to change reality.

Our experiences so far have been working with people directly because that is what we are passionate about: volunteering for school. There are many opportunities for volunteer work at Renovation School with environmental, conservation, animal organizations, etc.

Whatever branch you choose, and no matter how basic or silly the tasks you have to do may seem, you will be contributing to the world, changing reality, trying to improve some unfavorable situation. And that is priceless.

3.      The activities to do (almost always) are very easy

We hear many people say, "I couldn't because I don't know. "What if I'm not good at doing this or that thing?" Before doing it for the first time, the reality is that most of the people you will work with are far from judging you. They have much more basic needs to cover before worrying about how you are or how you do things.

These basic needs can be met more easily than one thinks since most of the time, the NGO you work with will give them the food or shelter they lack, and part of your task will be to provide love and attention, which comes naturally.

4.      You will discover exciting places and cultures.

Whether you choose to volunteer for school in your country or abroad, you are going to face realities that are very different from yours. That expands mental horizons and allows a deeper understanding of realities, and with understanding comes tolerance and love.

If you move territorially to do so, the profit increases exponentially. That is pure profit for the volunteer for the school.

5.      You will have the power to spread the word.

When you return home, your work will not be finished. The other part begins, that of "living to tell the tale." Now is when it is in your hands to talk about it with as many people as you can, share your photos and experiences on the networks, encourage your circles to open up to this new experience, and at least one person you know will certainly be enthusiastic about the idea, which is quite an achievement.

Volunteer for school is the link. You can collaborate financially or even just by spreading the project.

But not everything is rosy, of course. The most likely thing is that you will come back changed, that you will no longer be able to reintegrate into your life as it was, that you will no longer even want to surround yourself with the same people you used to hang out with; You will decide if it will be worth it. We warned you.
