In a rather happy update for all Rajinikanth sir and director Nelson have collaborated for a film titled Thalaivar 169. This development comes as a sweet surprise to all. Production House Sun Pictures’ Twitter handle announced the same via a video which had music composer Anirudh, Nelson and Rajinikanth sharing the frame. The tweet could be read, “#Thalaivar169BySunPictures: https://youtu.be/EtXQqufHoAk Presenting Superstar @rajinikanth’s #169 directed by @Nelsondilpkumar and music by @anirudhofficial (sic).”

 

Nelson, sharing the same on Twitter, wrote, “Feeling elated to announce my next film with the legendary SUPERSTAR @rajinikanth sir , happy to have associated with @sunpictures and my dearest friend @anirudhofficial once again! #respect #humbled #thalaivar169 (sic).”

 

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander tweeted, “One and only Superstar @rajinikanth @Nelsondilpkumar directorial @sunpictures We are back with #Thalaivar169 (sic).”

The moment that we were waiting for is finally here! Since the past few days, rumours have been floating that superstar Rajinikanth and director Nelson will join hands for Thalaiva’s next. And the rumours are indeed true. Sun Pictures announced Rajinikanth and Nelson’s next collaboration titled Thalaivar 169 with swag!

A source close to the development of the film told Pinkvilla that Rajinikanth and Nelson Dilipkumar are teaming up for a feature film. It will be high on content with ample amount of quirky elements in the screenplay. By April end or early May, the film should go on floors. The source also revealed that the film will see a theatrical release between December 2022 to February 2023. An official announcement will soon be made with a special video. The film is produced by Sun Pictures with Anirudh on board to do the music and background score.

Meanwhile, Nelson Dilipkumar is gearing up for the release of his next, Beast, fronted by Thalapathy Vijay. His new film with Rajinikanth will mark the superstar's 169th film. It will be shot over a period of five to six months at multiple locations due to the Covid-19 scenario.

According to reports, actor Vijay is likely to shoot for his 65th film from first week of April. The project is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar of Kolamaavu Kokila fame.

Vijay's upcoming film with director Nelson Dilipkumar is likely to go on floors in April this year. Even before the theatrical release of Master, Vijay announced that his 65th film will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures and it will be directed by Nelson. Earlier, it was rumoured that AR Murugadoss has been roped in to direct the film. Though Murugadoss almost confirmed it, he had to opt out of the film due to creative differences.

 

 

THALAPATHY 65 TO GO ON FLOORS IN APRIL

The latest update is that Vijay is all set to shoot for Nelson's film in the first week of April. Touted to be an action thriller, major portions of the film will be shot abroad. A few weeks ago, there were reports that the makers of Thalapathy 65 had approached Pooja Hegde to play the female lead. However, nothing has been finalised yet. An official announcement regarding the film's cast and crew will be made in March.

 

In December, Sun Pictures, the producers of the film, took to Twitter to announce it with a small video. The official announcement went viral on social media. Sharing the video, Sun Pictures wrote, "We are happy to announce Thalapathy @actorvijay’s #Thalapathy65bySunPictures directed by @nelsondilpkumar and music by

@anirudhofficial #Thalapathy65 (sic)."
