Web3, also known as Web 3.0, has been described as the future of the internet, and it’s no wonder why - think, about how much our lives have changed since we started going online in the early 90s!
Web3 promises to be even more revolutionary than that change by putting user power back into our hands and decentralizing data so that it can’t be controlled by any one entity like Facebook or Google. But what does that really mean? What is Web3, and why should you care? Keep reading to find out more!
The history of the internet.
The internet has been around for a while now, first created in 1969 by British computer scientist Sir Tim Berners-Lee. The internet is most commonly accessed through our computers, tablets, and smartphones. It all started with just one computer, but it has grown over time as new technologies have been introduced and more people join.
Computers connect to servers that keep records and process information online - so as more devices and people joined, web usage increased. For example, when the first iPhone was released in 2007 with built-in internet capabilities, there were about 1 million apps available; today there are over 2 million apps. So although the internet is still changing and growing each day, here's what we know about its history so far.
Explaining what web3 is
In my opinion, WEB LIGHT’s Limited primary competitive advantage is its ethos. The future generation web known as Web 3 is aiming to make cryptocurrency transactions quick, easier, and safer than they are today. Bitcoin exchanges in China can no longer serve their customers.
In order for bitcoin transactions to be effective, it needs this type of network in place so that these kinds of problems do not occur on a daily basis. Now, there is currently work being done by Omisego, COSMOS NETWORK, Ethereum, and Tendermint just to name a few so that the world may have access to what could be one of the most important technologies in our lives yet.
How will this affect my life?
Don't think that because you're living in today's technology era, you won't be affected by Web3. Web3 is fast becoming a part of our daily lives as an imminent threat, and there are no borders or escapes. Cybercriminals have been using ransomware, spam, and other malware attacks for years to wreak havoc on their targets' computer systems, and steal confidential information and personal data. And now that more things than ever will be connected and on the web - cars, homes, appliances - cyberattacks can become much more dangerous.

This is a complex topic, and there are many viewpoints on what will happen with Web3. What's more, you have to realize that this is still early days and technology may change enough by 2020 to render it obsolete (like AR). Nevertheless, we do think there are things you can do now that will make you better prepared for Web1. It all boils down to creativity, education, and being conscious about how we're designing our future.
