Most of the peple might have heard about the VPN in several scenarios and might wondered what it is and how it works. I will give a brief overview abot the VPN and it's usage in this article.
VPN stands for virtual private network. Generally the VPN is used to mask or spoof the IP address. IP address is just as the name of a person, unlike names in alphabets the computers will be having IP address which looks something like 172.156.123.25. Every computer connected to Internet will have a IP address. Even though there is no Internet connectivity for a computer, in order to create a local network with multiple systems every computer should possess a IP. The reasons for communication in between computers in a network are numerous, a classic example for the communication is data sharing. Whenever, we try accessing a website from our computer a request will be send to the server along with our IP address, then the server verifies the request and sends the data which will be loaded on our browser.
Coming to the usage of VPN, the VPN will mask the IP address which means it changes the identity of your computer. For example, the original IP is 1.2.3.4 when we use the VPN IP will be masked to random values like 12.25.236.745 followed by changing the country and ISP provider details as well. There are both advantages and disadvantages when we are using a VPN. The main advantage of VPN to change the IP is that we will be able to access the blocked websites and we can change the IP to access Netflix content which is not available in our country. Coming to the disadvantage the Internet speed will slow down upto 40% of actual speed. Patience is all matters when we want to get something. There are many free VPN services available online.
