Ukraine and Russia Crises
This article summarizes the main bone of contention between Ukraine and Russia. Moreover it will highlights the interests of super powers in the conflict.
What is the matter of conflict?
LAND? POWER? or RESOURCES?
Is tension increasing on borders?
Ukraine was the part of USSR till 1991 before its crash .After the split of USSR Ukraine was also separated as other states of the Federation. The current conflict between Russia and Ukraine is the Area between them which is under the influence of Russian Separators.
Russian separatist are the military groups which are having affiliation with the Russia. They are declared as terrorist groups by the Government of Ukraine Ukraine wants the membership of NATO and Europe and USA also wants to take benefits from the natural resources of Ukraine.
Russia had already occupied some land of Ukraine which is known as Crimia.
Ukraine is full of natural resources specially Natural gas and It is supplied to Europe as well.Ukraine has a wide variety of natural resources. The natural resources of Ukraine can be divided into three main groups; energy resource, metal ores, and non-metal ores. Although it accounts for only 0.4% and 0.8% of the Earth’s land surface and world’s population respectively, the country has approximately 5% of the world’s mineral resources. Over 20,000 deposits of 194 known minerals can be found in Ukraine. Of these deposits discovered, 7,800 deposits of over 90 hold important industrial minerals. Ukraine has one of the leading reserves and extraction of manganese, iron, and non-metallic raw material. The deposits can be found in different regions across the country. This is another reason why Europe had intrests in this conflict.
Hot statements of world powerful leaders have also raised the temperature of the zone.
United States President had many serious statements on the issue which warns Russian President not to start any adventure.
US President has also said that.
“It is important to prevent any military incident. In fact these events are aiming to reduce the importance of our priorities without hurting the main interest of the US and Nato”
British Prime minister has also shown serious intents on the issue and says that Russia is about to attack on Ukraine.He had also declared that in such case UK will fully support the Ukraine and serious sanctions will be imposede on Russia.
Relations between the UK and Ukraine are very close and there are regular bilateral visits between the countries and political dialogue covers the full range of international issues.Ukraine is a significant European and United Kingdom security issue with strategic importance for the long-term security, stability and prosperity of the continent and for UK interests
On the other hand Russia is also increasing its military power on the ukrainian borders and making pressure on Ukraine.Russian President has said that he is considering recognising the independence of east Ukraine's two separatist regions .This the step that would further escalate the Ukraine crisis.
But what so ever the interests of the different nations are, The truth is that
