Traffic Exchanges Why You Should Steer Clear

There are many effective ways to advertise your business online and equally, there are very questionable ways too!

Although I usually choose to focus on the good points of my articles, the “traffic” entertainment industry is something I feel I have a responsibility to warn you about. If you are new to advertising your business online it means you have been doing searches here and there, trying to find ways to "get out of there".

You have found that there are a million and various websites that make good claims and promise the world! Although a lot of traffic trading may not make you a millionaire, they claim to be able to send you countless “hot hopes” numbers. This is what I have a problem with - the level of traffic is always very low.

No doubt you have found for yourself a few of these traffic exchanges. Why don't they work?

The giveaway is in the name but first the little history will help you understand the context in which the traffic trade took place. Back in the early days of the internet, at least as early as 2001, the first traffic exchange was born. It was a good idea and worked very well. Users have registered and agreed to view or "filter" other members' pages. As the user navigates, so do the built-in credits used to display the site of users across the network.

Because the idea was new, it worked very well. It was a great way to get traffic to your new site. Then, of course, the business model was copied. The “car” industry was now over us. There seemed to be a new exchange every week. Different exchanges have different filter / display rates. All the same people joined the same exchange.

Let's jump back to the present tense. With a little research, it will not take you long to discover that these days it is search engines that drive more than 80% of online traffic. The only people who use traffic traffic are new webmasters and people who are trying to find a free way to advertise their website.

Check out this user base minute.

No one is interested in what you have to sell. All they care about (like you) is getting traffic to their website. People who are persistent in commercial use have designed filtering methods more than 15 times at a time, never using more than one or two seconds on a single site. All of this includes no one really seeing your page and equals the worst return on your investment - that investment is time, your most valuable asset.

Traffic trading began when SEO was a term that was not yet invented. With the growth and growth of Google, other search-and-search engines and many smaller niche indicators are now emerging from the scene, the main focus of this day and age is search engine optimization or SEO. When you see the incredible power of high ranking in Google, the "industry" of traffic exchange becomes a complete deception.

Then the last nail in the box. Robots!

Since the traffic exchange depends on a piece of software to distribute traffic to the network, there is always the opportunity to design a piece of software that can copy the system. These "boots" are available for purchase at a glance.

Adequate robots can make traffic swaps completely useless and they always do. No matter how much “cheat protection” the owner of the exchange does, some savvy code will always find a way around it. It is quite possible that the only winners in the traffic exchange game are the people who use the robots - they get tons of free traffic! A smart exchange owner can also make a living from it, if they try really hard.

So I have very good reason to warn you about using traffic exchanges and initial knowledge of the industry (I have been trying to trade for a very long time). If you are new to online marketing please take my advice - don't waste your time.

Focus on search engine optimization. Focus on giving something of value if you can. This has the effect of making other people link to your site as you provide the service. Links to your site increase your popularity. In my book I show you some great software programs available that will help you build a very important web site. That's where the fun begins
