What many people want, obviously, is for the new OLED iPhone to simply be the "iPhone 8" and wow us with a new design at the same old prices. But what is Apple supposed to do if, say, Samsung can only produce 10 million OLED displays for Apple per quarter? Apple can't magically produce whatever it wants in sufficient quantity at current prices.
Since the launch of the first generation iPhone in 2007, smartphones have taken over the mobile communication industry. Developers stopped mucking around with alternative technology and leapt on the bandwagon in full force. Samsung even abandoned their iPad-revenge tablet (the Galaxy Note 10.1) only three months after it had been released, in favour of producing smaller tablets and a bigger range of smartphones. Because why would you carry around a tablet when you can do everything on your smartphone?
The above list is mostly nitpicking and iPhone X, overall, is an excellent phone. A11 Bionic chip is the fastest on the market by leagues, FaceID is good for a first generation feature, the full screen almost edge to edge display is gorgeous, camera is "the best camera Apple has ever made" (read: despite being an iterative improvement it is very good), and wireless charging is convenient.
I totally agree with John Gruber's logic on the next iPhone with a "High-end" model above the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus. I just hope that the rumor mills are not accurate about the shortage of OLED production capabilities, and that Apple could bring the edge to edge display design to all iPhone models.
Again, it has nothing to do with how old an iPhone is. You could own the latest and greatest iPhone 8 or X, and if you pushed the battery enough (more than 500 cycles) in the first year of ownership, the same thing would happen… But it would be difficult to actually stress the battery that much in a year.
In case you are reading this and don't know me, no, I am not some die hard Google everything fan. I am a fan of excellent hardware/software, and of course a super geek for new tech. Here I am setting up my iPhone X in front of my Google Pixelbook. To the left of me is my Windows 10 computer, and my Mac Mini running High Sierra Beta. See? I love all kinds. :-)
Based on this pricing Republic Wireless still, offers the least expensive plan, but Xfinity Mobile is the only provider that gives you access to the latest smartphone on the market. If you are one of those people who need to have the latest iPhone or Samsung phone, Xfinity might be the way to go. It is a way better deal than Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T.
Counting more than 80M iPhone users in the US alone and 1B active devices worldwide , Apple is already sitting on a mountain of valuable data. A key differentiator between Apple and traditional health care companies is that the tech giant is able to focus on health outcomes and the patient experience without being held back by restrictions on what may or may not be reimbursed by insurers. Apple's roughly $250 billion in cash also provides the company with some room for serious innovation.
On paper this looks like a typical Samsung Vs Apple battle: the former throwing a super high resolution at Apple’s seemingly more modest panels. The reality is the iPhone 6 (and the largest iPhone 6 Plus) punch far above their weight with superb brightness, contrast ratio and viewing angles. (Kelly, G., Jul. 2018)
